Will arrive Thursday night, October 21 for 3 nights at GC. I am bringing my daughter, and her friend to celebrate their 9th birthdays. I have a few questions.

1) the hours seem longer then I had expected at this time and also a lot of room cats are sold out at the GC. Can anyone tell me if something is going on that weekend?

2) What type of crowds should we expect?

3) Getting from DL to the GC at night...is it better to walk or take the monorail?

4) Is the wheelchair access to the monorail at Disney District a ramp like in DW or an elevator?

5) for those of you who have brought young friends did you get anything in writting form thier parents to insure you can seek medical attention if necessary, etc? and if so what did you get?

Thank you for your help.

Jeannie

IT SHOULD NOT BE THAT CROWDED IN THE PARKS BECAUSE IT IS NOT THAT BUSY IN OCTOBER. THE GC TENDS TO SELL OUT BEFORE THE OTHER HOTELS, SO THAT MAY BE WHY IT SEEMS THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE GOING.
YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO USE THE MONORAIL EXCEPT TO GO TO AND FROM THE PARK FROM DOWNTOWN DISNEY. YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO USE IT UNLESS YOU WANT TO BECAUSE THE GC IS SO CLOSE TO THE PARK.
IF YOU GO INTO THE PARK WHEN IT OPENS YOU CAN HIT ALL THE RIDES YOU WANT WITHOUT WAITING TO LONG. DON'T, I REPEAT, DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE AFTERNOON OR YOU'LL BE WAITING HOURS FOR THE BEST RIDES THAT YOU COULD HAVE BEEN IN LINE FOR 10 MINUTES WHEN THEY FIRST OPEN.
YES, THERE IS WHEELCHAIR ACCESS AT THE MONORAIL. I DON'T KNOW IF THE WHEELCHAIR IS ELECTRIC, BUT IF IT IS NOT AND YOU ARE INTERESTED IN USING ONE, (MY MOTHER-IN-LAW DID, VERY HELPFUL) THEN GO TO THE INFORMATION DESK AND THEY WILL GET YOU IN TOUCH WITH A COMPANY THAT WILL RENT ONE FOR YOU.

1. DL tends to stay open late on weekends because there is a large local customer base. It being open until 11pm or midnight is typical on a Friday or Saturday regardless of what time of year it is.

2. Weekends are typically fairly busy (large local population--many with APs). With HMHoliday going on, you can expect much of the crowds to be around that.

3. I would say walk--I think the GC entrance into DTD is closer to the front gates than the DTD monorail stop is.

4. There is an elevator.

5. Can't help you there.

FYI to Travelingjen24--turn off the cap-lock. It makes it look like you're yelling.

I always have the parents fill out a medical and health form and have them notarized. Be sure to include copies of insurance cards and contact numbers. I have a copy of these that I can send to you if you want them. (I used them with my cub scout den and with my family.)

I also get a "permission to transport across state lines" if this applies. May not be necessary, but I like to be prepared just in case anything would happen.

Haunted Mansion Holiday--the Haunted Mansion has a Nightmare Before Christmas overlay and it's very cute.
