Oct 2021=bad idea?

Yeah if you are going to be at MK 10/1 you have to really WANT to be there.

Yea...I'm still struggling with this internally. A big part of me really wants to be at MK on the 1st because it's such a milestone anniversary (and I do love to be part of a happening). The other (more logical) part of me thinks waiting a week or 2 is better and everything except the "I was there" shirts and hours-long merch lines will still be there. to enjoy.

I personally think that day will be so bad there is really not much you will be able to do. it will be "hey I am inside the MK on the 50th" and that's about it.

Between the media, the bloggers, the celebrities', maybe even dignitaries will be there....... its going to be pretty bad.

I wonder if they will have a media night. So all the vlog/bloggers can go after close to see whats to offer. To hype the festivities.

I really don’t disagree. We did Christmas about 8 years ago and walked into MK, saw the parade and said ok we are inside MK on Christmas now let’s go somewhere else. I figure that’ll be us on the 1st as well if we do it.

Late September is already much harder to book for DVC then I have ever seen. We travel on the third week of September every year.

Yep. And now that they didn't announce really that much happening for October (at least not yet) I think it's an even better chance that later in the month really won't be all that affected by the anniversary.

It's lasting 18 months, people won't be in a hurry to get there anytime soon.

I fly in on Saturday the 11th, check into CS on the 12th, and fly out the 16th. I thought the week after Labor Day week (on the 6th) and a couple of weeks before the crowds move in for the 50th would be just about right. Now I just hope not too many others are thinking the same thing. LOL Good luck with your trip! Maybe we'll see you there.

We're head down the week after you. Hoping that will be the last least crowded week before the craziness of October hits.
