My family had a trip planned for April 2020. That didn’t happen and we’ve rescheduled (for the third time) to October 7-15, 2021 at Beach Club. I just realized that this pretty much coincides with the 50th anniversary. Do you think this is a bad time to go, crowd wise? We’ve been at Easter so we understand crowds but we also utilize fast pass!!! Who knows if fast passes will be back. What would you do?

Hard to say. It may be a fantastic celebration to share between the 50th and with any hope, finally getting over the pandemic hump. It'd feel incredible to share that energy with other guests. Maybe not but if it does work out that way can you imagine watching those 50th fireworks together after all everybody's been thru? Pretty intense.

Crowds will probably be very high (for all of Oct). Already plenty of people are planning special trips and tons more have moved trips to next fall in hopes things get somewhat better. It's kind of a trade off... the better circumstances are by then, the more crowded I'd expect it to be. It could be one heck of a blow out.

I would expect it to be very crowded in October. Doesn’t mean it won’t be fun, but just plan accordingly. Also it’s a long way off so if it starts looking like it’s going to be more crowded than you’d like you can always reschedule again.

We are going in October as we do most years.
With the 50th early in the month, I expect the crowds to remain high the rest of the month.
As many people cancelled trips this year and early next year and rebooked to fall, I expect most of the fall to be as busy as they will allow.

Yes, so you think the crowds will be better by oct 7?
No. Columbus Day is the 11th so a lot of people have off. They will come down on Friday and make it a long weekend. It is going to be crazy busy from the 8th through at least the 12th.

I think the latter part of 2021 is going to be bonkers between people rescheduling their trips and the anniversary. If I had to guess, October will be pre-Covid Christmas level crowds, unless they limit capacity. For some people it will be worth it, but not me.

It feels really hard to predict. I'm planning Oct 17-24 currently.

I would imagine it's more crowded than a typical fall but nothing like holiday times. Yes, there are A LOT of people with vacations being rescheduled that will probably go around then. But there is many many more people that have lost their jobs and their expendable income for an expensive vacation like Disney.

And it's likely international guests won't be crowding the parks yet.

I'm assuming anybody that wants the vaccine will have had by early Summer so Disney will be able to open back to normal capacity in October.

I don't think that just because it's a 50th anniversary there will be more crowding. I love mid-October in Florida because the weather is cooler and there is usually less humidity.

I think no one can truly predict much these days but I suspect it will be very crowded with pent up demand and the anniversary. I was there mid Oct 2018, not Columbus Day weekend, and it was packed. Busier than any President's Week I've been (and we often go then.)

My point is October is becoming much busier. However, it sounds like you're a seasoned visitor so you'll be fine.

Personally, we're waiting until probably Feb 2022 (since you asked WWYD) but if your heart is set on going at that time then go for it.

We have been in October twice in past years. Always crowded but we are going next October to have fun and celebrate 50 years of Disney Magic!! 22 moths without a Disney "fix". It has been a long haul. lol

I think that it will be very crowded. If you are okay with that, then go, I’m not going back until at least 2022, and that will likely be another solo trip. Or two. I own a timeshare, and have friends who own DVC, and many of us will also be trying to use up our weeks and points that we had to postpone, so everything will be super full, as well as the anniversary there. I’m so over crowds so I’m waiting a while!

We are planning an October trip as well, probably the same dates. We love going for Food and Wine and MNSSHP so will just plan on larger than normal crowds.

The only way I'd go in October is if I felt like I absolutely had to be there at the beginning of the 50th Anniversary. Otherwise, there's no way I'd go anywhere near that place in October. With all of the pent up demand for Disney? And it being the 50th? No way. I'm going in September for that very reason, hoping everyone is waiting to go in October so I can miss the crowds.
