Oct.19, 02 Cruisers AGAIN

Just put Miss Kaleigh down for a nap, so I have a bit of time.

We left very early on Saturday morning and drove to Savannah. That was a good distance. Drove the rest of the way the next morning. Arrived at OKW around 11:30 AM and got our room right away. We were unpacked by 12:30 and off to lunch at Olivia's. We took a nice walk around the resort and went swimming. We were tired, so we all went to bed early. The crowds were horrible this time. All the Florida schools had the week off and they all showed up at WDW! Tuesday morning we went to Chef Mickey's for breakfast. The food was quite good and Kaleigh had a blast with the characters!
We spent most of our time in Epcot and the MK. Thursday night we went to MNSSHP. It was quite fun. Got some pretty good loot too! Enjoyed the parade and Kaleigh absolutely loved the show in front of the castle. We were getting ready to leave at 11 PM because she could hardly stay awake when we came upon the show. She sits up in her stroller and starts bouncing. So, we stayed to watch it. I have never seen her so excited about anything! She didn't stop moving once. I was having a ball watching her! Saturday was Sweetest Day and the 1st day of the F&W Festival. We bought some champagne and toasted the beautiful morning. It took 3 days, but we ate ourselves around the world! Kaleigh loved it too. Everytime we sat down to eat something, she had to try it. She had lots of different foods from around the world. Sunday was our anniversary and we started the day off with another glass of champagne. Ate some more stuff from around the world. We went to dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Very enjoyable. Then we walked around the boardwalk after dinner. It was quite romantic, even with a 1 year old in tow!
We ended our stay with Wishes on Monday night. What a nice way to end a wonderful vacation.
We went swimming a few times, used our pool hopping option for the 1st time (Poly) and just had a wonderful time overall. We are very much looking forward to meeting up with many of you in December!
We plan on making PS for the Crystal Palace for breakfast for December.

Oh yeah, we tried several different libations. I was actually carded! When the guy asked for my ID, he looked at it and reluctantly let me have my wine. I could have hugged him!
We also had some sake from Japan and tried some cognac and Spanish brandy. Jerry and I shared the last two. Those were the strongest drinks I have ever had. They burned all the way down.
We ended up buying a bottle of champagne and a bottle of white wine to bring home.

Bonnie, sorry you had a rotten day at work. Once that system is in place and up and running I am sure you can slow down. You deserve this trip!

Denine, I so enjoyed reading your post about the trip. Sounds like you had a very good time.

I know what mask you are talking about Sally. It does smell yummy!

Barb, we took Bryan on a cruise with Heidi and us. It gave us a lot of great memories but now they are sad as well.

I worked 7 PM until 7 AM and the night started out really busy but it ended up being a really good shift (especially for "critical" pay).

Work wasn't too bad today but got a late email that they need "testers" first thing monday morning to run 400 auths...I will be doing it along with another of my staff.
Also will work this weekend on getting some easier instructions for the staff.

Oh well...off to dinner...so much for the diet ....yeah right...porky pig here!

Turner had his last soccer game of the season today and it ended in a tie. But for the season his team came in 2nd. Now we can concentrate on just hockey for a while!

Hope everyone is doing fine.

Has anyone heard back from Darren? I was just wondering if he was still home or back at sea. If he is back at sea, we were hoping to see him when we cruise next month or with you al in December. Hope he is doing ok.

I just finished catching up with the posts. Thanks for the anniversary wishes, 12 years and still happy!

I was hoping Darren would check in while we were gone, but I guess he has disappeared off the face of the earth!

We are not going to do the CP package. I don't think Kaleigh will sit through dinner and then the show. We will just try to catch the show, even if we have to stand outside and just listen. I have it on CD.

It sounds like Lori gets back from Hawaii tomorrow. I hope she had a wonderful trip.

Sally: It sounds like your cruise was terrific! I also love tanzanite!

Sandy: Hope Heidi isn't too worried about her test. Has she seen the specialist yet?

Sue: Congrats on the weight loss! I will weigh myself next week and hope the damage isn't too bad.

Bonnie: Hope work goes better this week!

Barb: I like you idea of the decoy!

Jeanne: Sounds like the wedding was beautiful!

Julie: I always liked Christopher as a boys name.

Kaleigh and I both have colds. It has been really yucky, weather wise, since we came home.

Hi guys. I'll try and read the past 7 pages when my eyes aren't so bleary. We're home, it's Saturday afternoon and I last crawled out of bed at 6:30AM Friday to go surfing one last time.
Great trip, healthy kids, yeah!!! Katie got her hair braided yesterday in HA and gave both Ben and I a bad flashback of her lying in that ICU bed on a respirator ... with braids in her hair. Much better ending to October THIS year.
Both kids are major surfers now. We started them out riding adult size long-boards which was SO easy but we needed to give them a little push to catch the waves. The last day we rented a board for their size and Katie paddled it fast enough to catch waves all on her own. Cody still had a lot of board to get those little arms around but with a supplemental push, he also rode the smaller board like a pro. Lots of fun boogie-boarding, snorkeling, kayaking and playing in the sand too.
Denver welcomed us home with 31 degrees!

OK, I've got to unpack but I wanted to pop in and say hi.

Barb, Sandy, I work Fridays! Is it a lunch or dinner plan? If late dinner I might be able to show up but won't know until that evening how the schedule goes and I would still have to be on call 'till the end of my 8:30 shift. Mon Nov.17 or Wed. 19th works for me either lunch or dinner. Are you bringing spouses or is it lunch with the girls?

All of your WDW plans have me exhausted for you.

Man, talk about the fish that got away!... On our way home I thought I had Florida all wrapped up for next October, then maybe on to St. Thomas to meet up with some Disney fanatics I know! Ohh, but alas, the travel gods were only toying with our dreams. Our travel entailed going from Honolulu to Dallas to Denver. Stupid to have to go thru Dallas, I know. An extra 2 hours in the air. Anyway, the flight was over booked and they asked for volunteers to take a later flight thru LA. Well, duh! I raced right up to the counter. They were able to get us both flights needed with seats all together and less time in the air over-all. We would only have arrived 1 hour later to Denver and, here's the sweet part, we'd have $300. EACH in vouchers on American. I had visions of that $1200. going toward air next October. But NO, a few people didn't show up by the last minute, so they went ahead and put us on our original flights. We were so bummed. I guess I'll have to work for that money darn it!

OK, back to unpacking, guess I should think about something for dinner, too.

Ok, I'm here. I have send everyone the cruisers address list again. I hope that I have gotten all the changes. Sally, I need your email address so I can forward it to you. Otherwise I will just email you the address of your "family for the secret santa" exchange. I hope eveyone is ok with the family they have. I tried to make sure that no one got the same family as last year. The drawing went very good in that aspect. IF by any reason you need to change families, please don't feel strange, just ask and I will do my best to get the change made. (it can be done!)

I'm just finishing up the "info/rules" for the exchange and will send it out once I'm done.

You know all the beautiful weather we have been having....when I got up this morning there was a light dusting of snow....melted as soon as the sun came out....it was in the 50's today

Now that it feels like fall I made pumpkin pies....that is about all I did...felt really lazy for some reason...

I sure hate the time change....I wake up between 5-6 normally so tomorrow it is going to be 4-5....makes for a long day and short night

Lori: Your trip to Hawaii sounded heavenly. Never been surfing, not the best idea with my back! I'd love to go there someday and spend 2 weeks!

Went to the movies last night. Saw Undre the Tuscan Sun....I now want to go to Tuscany, Italy!!!! It was a very good feel good movie. Highly recommend it. I would consider buying it when it comes out on DVD.

Warmed up here although rain is predicted.

Welcome back Lori. Surfing...why am I not surprised. Too bad about not being bumped. Jeanne and I volunteered once after Floydd. We did not get taken but were gratefull since we ended up in first class...while the other 2 we were with ended up in coach! LOL!

Cleaning today. Then off to work tomorrow...yuk!!!! Why can't the weekends be longer than the week!

When we came home from Fla they ask us if we would take a later flight...they said they would give us $200 each but since Barb had to go to work the next day and we wouldn't get in until ll:30 we said no.....then Barb said we should have as she wasn't going in until ll:30 the next day.....and I was trying to be a thoughtful mother looking out for her baby....some baby...in her 40's....

It is cold out this morning.....football weather....go Broncos!!
