Oct.19, 02 Cruisers AGAIN

Wow! I am posting from our new computer. It is amazing! I can't believe how fast it is. We received the computer yeaterday after I posted. Jerry is working on transfering the info from the old computer. I love AOL 8.0 so far. It is better than 4.0 which was all our computer could handle. We had a 19.2 modem. We now have a 56 modem.

Julie: No punchline. We just saw a cop drive into the woods by himself.

I got the deck stained today. I have to check tomorrow to see if any of it needs a second coat.

We got the house mostly baby proofed. I still need to do a couple of things. Kaleigh reminds me of Pebbles when she crawls. She does have the right hair color. She is so cute!

Bonnie: Have fun sewing. I am sure the dress will be beautiful.

Sue: Have fun on your road trip.

Lori: Take a day off!

Our road trip was inspired by Paul watching the History channel and they were talking about US 1 from Maine to Florida. So as a get to know your state a little better, we did US 1 within our state and just explored a little. At least we got out of the house for a little. Now we are thinking about a day trip to the mountains tomorrow. We haven't decided for sure yet.

Denine - we got our Dell last Aug/Sept (?) and have been so pleased with it. The speed alone brought us out of the dark ages! As a matter of fact, it was surfing on the new computer that led me to finding all of my DIS friends. I had never been to the DIS boards before then - not enough speed on the old computer for my impatience level. And the rest with you guys is history!

Barb - I am so proud of you for posting from home more lately. Now, where is your mom??? Haven't heard from her in a while on here.

Bonnie - hope the sewing is going well.

Off to bed but had to check in.

Picked mom up from the airport this evening then went right to Atlantic City to see my son's band...they were playing on the Deck at Trump Marina...I like it when they play there since they start at 7:30...more my time...My DIL birthday was today so her whole family was down there. Stayed for one set, then mom wanted to gamble so I gave her 20 minutes to get it out of her system then home.

Couldn't sew since I broke the spindle on my sewing machine...ran out fro a replacement but no luck!!! Panic time!

Can't find my cell phone!!! Oh no!!! I hope it fell out in mom's car and not some place else! Not the best of days actually!

Bonnie, sorry to hear about sewing problems. I know that drives me nuts when I break something (but mine are usually needles and the not so "important" things). Decided against another road trip today. Maybe we'll go to the movies and to the pool.

Paul and I will be going to Roanoke , VA next weekend so I won't be around after Friday morning. Turner will be with my brother and SIL.

Sorry to hear about the sewing machine, Bonnie. But, glad you had a good trip to see your son's band.

Good Morning!!

Going to chruch today then home to make 2 dishes for a picnic.
Finally got some much needed rain last night. Sure did cool things off.

I have been thinking about joining Weight Watchers again. It is so hard to fit in the meetings into an already busy life. You are doing great Susan and I know Bonnie lost a lot on Weight Watchers. Better find time!

Mom is sick. I think she is very run down from all the company. She was staying up at night until 2 or 3 then back up in the morning early. My Dad is in Ohio visiting his family so Mom is all alone. I took her some food yeserday I hope she is able to get some rest.

At an impass on the Christening gown...the directions for one little piece are very confusing and I am stuck. Plus the neck interfacing doesn't appear to fit properly! I emailed the pattern company...we'll see.

I hope mom feels better.

I would like to get back on track with WW but...can't seem to do it.

Oh, well...back to work tomorrow. Just wanted to check in.

Hola people! Just checking in to see what everyone is up to.

Bonnie, I hope the gown will work out. I know on some patterns that I had, I couldn't figure out what they were talking about so I just winged it and did my own thing. It usually worked out well. I want to see pictures once you get it completed. Garry always says that people who write the directions never actually put together or use the item that they actually write the directions for.

Barb/Bonnie - As for WW, you have a buddy here if you need one but first you have to get yourself ready. I have felt great doing WW and couldn't be more proud of myself. Remember, the hardest part is getting started. It's Monday and I can't wait for my Wednesday weigh in. I feel really good about this week. I am usually nervous about weigh in day but not this week.

Sally - I hope you are feeling better soon. Get some rest - you are always so busy and you need to take care of you. We miss your posts.

Barb - glad you finally got some rain.

I am here....feeling a little better today, I think. At least not every joint in my body aches.

I am covered with bites and have finally decided it is flea bites....never had them here but my daughter's two dogs are here from Texas. I am so ready for them to go home....all I do is clean up after them and scratch! She will be back next week for a day and then they are leaving for home. They got shut in the computer room and tore the carpet up so bad it has to be replaced.

I am getting new carpet in the living, dinning room after the dogs leave....just hope she doesn't bring them back next summer...they are cute dogs but ...........

I am going to go get paint for the fence.....and mulch for a flower bed I redid. I had such high hopes for everything I was going to get done while Dick is gone and haven't done much of anything except sleep. I think going to the store is about all I will get accomplished today and I need some food....not that I am hungry. Barb brought me food so I did eat. I hate being sick...

Bonnie I hope you can get your dress figured out. I have sewn for over 50 years and I hate directions....I think the same men write them that design womens shoes. I look at the pictures and that makes more sense than anything. I got a new Bernina sewing/embroidery machine and also a serger. Can't wait to use them but with all the company just haven't had time. I have 7 outfits to make for my great grandaughter waiting to be cut out.

Good Monday Morning!!

How is everyone this morning?? Not sure I am ready for another
work week.

We had a wonderful weekend. We went to a picnic at one of the couples in our cell group. They have the cutest Victorian house in the woods. She designed the house it looks just like a doll house from the outside. They also have about 12 acres. We played a game and we won!! Woo Hoooo as our prize they invited us to a 5 course italian meal at their house.

Today I am going to take some pictures of my stepdaughter Amanda at cheer practice then go to the Y to work out. It will be another full full week.

I am going to take Tiffany to get her permit this week. oh happy day....She is really excited

Barb: Fish furniture is my favorite furniture store. I don't know how they got their name. Enjoy your Italian meal!

Jerry got a lot of stuff copied from the old computer, except my address book. Have to remember to tell him to do that.

Making bread today. I have to start it when I get off the computer.

Good morning everyone. Glad to be back. Headed camping again this Thursday after Ted gets off work. No, I never get bored camping. I don't know what happened last Thursday. I was REALLY, REALLY bored. Guess you know that!!!!

Bonnie, you lost your cell AGAIN? I agree with Sally. Looking at the pics when sewing can lend a lot of help.

Susan, your weekend actually sounded like fun. Explorer Susan.

Denine, you have a crawler now. How sweet. You will love it now! Bad part of it is, I feel that is when they age so fast.

I got to hold a baby last week. Our favorite server at a restaurant just had a baby and his family was in so Ted and I got to hold him. He is 6 weeks old. What a beautiful baby. No baby blemishes and his color was perfect. But.........Dad is a latin lover. What a hunk and his accent....ooooh la la.

Hate hearing that you aren't feeling well, Sally. Maybe you should put off painting the fence for awhile. Sorry about your carpet. I sure would be upset.

Barb, the rain on Saturday was great. We had lots of lightening and thunder in Monument, did you????

Happy to see that Garry and Julie are keeping this thread alive.

Lori, dying to know what your sister thinks about Lake of the Rockies. Where does your sister live?

I am going shopping today. Just can't look at these 4 walls all day. Besides that I agreed to a full week next week with the little ones so I need some me time before I have to pull out my hair. 5 days instead of 2 might get a little hairy. Oh well, we will go camping right afterwards anyway. Nothing that a nice swim in the pool and a hot tub can't solve!!

Back from water aerobics just before the thunderstorm started! I can't remember when the last days we had without a thunderstorm. What a year this has been.

Got home after 9 last night so I didn't post...priorities you know...had to call Glenn right away!

One of the supervisors from up North Jersey is in town so we went to dinner...well, we planned on having dinner but she ended up on the concierge level of the hotel so we had hors d'oerves and a glass of wine...went around the corner for dinner and low and behold it was happy hour with snacks so dinner consisted of a $4 Margarita and nachos with all the fixings. Sandy...remember me with the bushwackers???? Well, there I was again! Numb lips and all!

Olivia and Ryan came by work yesterday. Olivia got to meet everyone but was not in the best of moods...I think maybe the elevator ride to the 27th floor must have bothered her ears or something. She was not a happy camper.

Mom- I am glad you are feeling better. You have to take it easy you know...bomb the house after the dogs leave so you get rid of the fleas!

Hope to finish the Christening gown tonight...at least down to the hand sewing anyway.
