The ultrasound showed a cyst that is all...just what I expected especially when the tech left the room and I read the original report...no microcalcifications so I had an idea then that I was going to do fine. I watched and she must have thought I was a nut...when she found the cyst and didn't say anything I said..."Ah, the black hole!" better that than a white whole right Lori?

Mom-so sorry to hear about Gretchen. It is very hard losing a dog even when they are like the last one I had...Skippy dawg...he wasn't quite right in the head but loved me so it was hard...I could tell you some stories about that one! Dumber than a bag of hammers!

Really not bad without air conditioning...I say that this year..if you had asked me in 99 or 00 I would have said not! Slept on the floor downstairs a few times. Very humid in NJ!

Laurie- the Wisconsin cows must be churning out chocolate milk! You posted!!! Lucky you to have a few free days off!!!

Lori- I believe Clear Lake is in the Houston area right? If so...that area is a living H*** in the summer!!! I would travel to Houston to train and would end up staying in the hotel most of the time due to the heat!

Well...back to the Christening gown!!!

I thought a little reminder from back in March could help cool us down!! Remember this?

Bonnie - glad the US result showed nothing serious.

Laurie - glad to hear from you. Going anywhere special for your vacation?

Back to work. Had a nice afternoon off yesterday but back to the reality of work today. Things have finally eased up a bit though until the next big wave.

Today is weigh in! I feel good about it even though it has been 3 weeks. I have really tried to make good choices and work out. Wish me luck and here is good luck to Denine and anyone else still weighing in!

Later!

Just wanted to say "Good Morning" to all you cruisers. It is really a beautiful morning here in New Jersey. I did post yesterday but can't find my posting AGAIN!

Today is a fill-in & pedicure day before I leave for the Outer Banks on Sunday. I can't wait but it really takes alot of work to get ready for a vacation where you rent a house & have to bring things - sheets, towels, food, etc.

Hope you all are having a great Summer (once Summer finally got here):sunny: :sunny: :sunny:. Have a great day & week. Toodles  :earsgirl: JEANNE

I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I lost the 1 pound I needed to lose to get to my first goal of 20 pounds lost!!!!!! 10 more to go!!!!! Yipppeeee!!!!!!!!!!!

Bonnie: Glad the US went fine!

Sue: Good luck today at weigh-in.

Laurie: Glad to hear from you!

Jeanne: Enjoy your trip!

We ordered the computer last night from Dell. Now we just need to figure out how to transfer all the stuff from this computer. We coould use a new printer too. But, Jerry wanted to do more research before we ordered one. I was looking at the ones in the Dell catalog but didn't know the same info about ours. Jerry dug out the manual. Instead of ppm, ours is mpp. I laughed when I found out how slow ours was compared to the new ones.

Supposed to be a nice day, a little cool for me (upper 70's), but sunny. We only got a little rain yesterday, no storms.

Steaks on the grill tonight!!!

Oh MAN, I could put on a bikini and throw myself into that 40" of snow right now! Thanks for the reminder Susan. Hey, we kind of had a whine party going there, huh?
Yes, Bonnie, black holes and "negatives" are actually good things-go figure. Clear Lake is by Houston too, you're right! I watched my poor younger stepbrother at his football practice there, in full pads and football uniform doing a workout from H*** in about 200 degrees and he didn't even die. My Mom tried to convince me that they just 'got used to it.' I cant imagine how, since they go from an air conditioned home to the air conditioned car to the air conditioned store, etc. Their house had four separate air conditioning systems built in, along with the dehumidifier, etc. What do they do when the power goes out? Live in the pool? I'm so glad to be in an area where it really is just an option.

Speaking of our dogs meeting us at the Rainbow Bridge ... my total atheist, "death is final" Dad was in a bad motorcycle accident a few years ago and had a near death experience. His two favorite dogs from his childhood and past were licking his face then suddenly ran off like they were called away, then he regained consciousness and sensations of pain. Wild, huh? Makes me love my dog even more to think of how lucky I'll be to have her there to meet me.

Catch you cats later, Lori

I almost forgot to post today!!!

I opened up the board this morning like I always do but then
totally forgot to post!

Tonight is the YMCA night. I always dread going but once I am done I am glad I went!!

Tiffany and I took golf lesson #2 last night. We got rained out the second hour. We are going to make it up tomorrow night. There is SOOOOO much to remember!! I have only picked up a golf club a few times and never have really played before. I am soooo lost. I can't remember all the stuff.....:(

Denine- Wow I am impressed. 20 pounds!! Woooo Hooo You go Girl!!!

Barb:smooth:

Lots of fun and interesting posts lately. And one from LAURIE!

Horray for Bonnie. Good US!

Susan, what I would do to post those same few sentences right now!!!!!

Lori, I always knew that I would see "Shorty" again. Wow, how interesting about your dad!!!!

Congratulations Denine! 20 pounds lighter.

Went back to Curves today. Too much going on with vacation but now it has slowed down.

Remember I told you guys that my Suburban didn't pass emissions? Well, 400.00 later it did. But listen to this. Our mechanic whom we trust and still do did some work took it back to the emissions people and they flunked it again. They went back to the shop and called the emissions people and talked to them about it because they just couldn't believe it. Emissions agreed that a different tech could do it. Well, the mechanic WATCHED everything and found out that they tested it as a light truck instead of a heavy duty truck. DUH!!!!!! Plus the first guy was not running the gas right. So now we spent 400.00 on nothing. I WILL complain. Odds are we won't win.

Ted came home early so have to go. Have a good one everyone.

I ran out of time this morning so didn't post...It was supposed to ran here today but as Jeanne said...Sunny! Go figure...But HOT!

Lori-great story about your dad and the dogs...although I am not sure about being stuck with dopey Skippy Dawg again!!! He was loyal though. And good with kids...to dumb to know otherwise!

Congrats Denine!!!! I want a picture now!!! Not 10 pounds from now...come on...PLEASE!!!!

Sandy-Make sure you cc the governor, state senator etc on your complaint!! Is it an election year??

Nothing new here...back to cutting out the last piece...the overlay is double which meant removing the pattern from the cut and doing it all over again! YUK! But then I can start sewing! Yea!

Way to go, Denine! I'm following your lead, I have lost 13 now! Only got a short water aerobics class in this evening due to thunder and lightening. Every bit counts though.

Glad you all liked the flashback to snow! I may try to post a few flashbacks each week. It's kind of fun reliving some of it!
Oh MAN, I could put on a bikini and throw myself into that 40" of snow right now!
Paul's comment was "I'd like to see that!"

Sandy - keep fighting. $400.00 is not chump change!

Have a great evening everyone!

Later!

Sorry I haven't been on posting much. Been tired ALOT lately and get totally wiped out in this heat. Ecen though today was very nice out, but I had to get out of the sun ths afternoon, got too hot. I do love the sunny days. Garry and I got a notice about the 4 day Disney cruises are now shooting off fireworks the night in Nassau. He keeps saying... you know we could do it, I could get 5 days off and we could do a mini vacation. IT IS SOOOOOOOO TEMPTING!!!!!!!!!

Does this look familiar:

"Roll Call. Oct.19,02
Who's with us ???
We are... Lori, Ben, Katie(9) and Cody(7) (ages at cruise time)"

"We're with you. Diana, Greg, Ian (10), Alina (6), Lianna(4), Annika (3) and Diana's Dad and his wife. Can't wait!!!inkbounc

Ted and Sandy, we'll probably be on the same plane! We're from Littleton too! But hey, no kids??? Diana might loan you a couple, that is, if the grandparents will share.
I can't believe how anxious I am for October to come. We even have a week long "pamper us silly" rafting trip and a California trip in between now and October. But all I think of is this cruise!!
So much anticipation then it will be finished so soon.
Hi to David, Krista and Clare too. I wonder if we could get a time in that chat room?? Anyone been in there yet? Maybe when the trip date is closer. (will it ever come). Glad to here from you all.
Welcome to everyone still to post.

Hi DreamsDoComeTrue, didn't even notice that you were from CO. We are flying out the morning before on Frontier. We are staying at the Radisson. No kids, that's right. We had one daughter and her boyfriend with us this last January and decided to go on our own this time. Besides that, DD is going on the Magic again in May with his family and on the Wonder in Sept. She is NOT hurting!!! We have twin daughters and the other one is busy planning her wedding and cannot take time off. For some reason, the honeymon comes first. They plan on a week at WDW and then a week on the Magic for their honeymoon. See you there!

Hi All
I just love having everyone checking in. We are very excited for October.
Have you all sailed with Disney before. We sailed without Clare in May of 2000 and had a great time.
Look forward to chatting more toward the date.
Krista

We sailed in October 2000 and had a GREAT time! Only 2 of our kids were old enough for the programs then so we always had 2 with us and still had so much fun. Unbelievable as it sounds our 4 year old (then 2 year old) probably had the best time and STILL talks about the big boat and is so excited about going again! I'm just so happy they can all 4 go in the clubs so we get some Mommy and Daddy time! Of course if Ted and Sandy WANT to borrow some .........:-) :-) :-)

Oh gosh, disney6. I know that we have plans the time that you would need us. Ha Ha!! I am sooooo sorry. BUT----Denine and Jerry will be on 2 weeks in a row and I am sure that they will be longing for little ones about that time. Try them. Actually, I clown around about the kids but I know that we would have just as much fun with them as without them. When they were younger, we did EVERYTHING as a family. We are now very close because of it.

Thanks for pointing that out! I love doing *almost* everything with my kids. They're good company.
The Jiminy's and Danine's still leave me boggled on one thing however... since you aren't with your kids at this time... why a Disney cruise?? I have a few theories floppin' around, maybe it's because the service is just SO incredible, (I'm a first timer you know), or maybe, it's a celebration of having "Graduated". For instance, when you hear a kiddo screaming over what a brother just dropped into their shirt, or yet another "life is unfair" demand, you get to sigh and think, hey, it's not mine. LOL Tell me, am I close?
Just for the record now, I am very grateful for the presence of seasoned pros on board, and our not being so frighteningly out numbered by kids!
So glad to hear from you all!

We choose Disney over other lines because it is more PG rated than the other lines. We do not drink (that much) or gamble. Other lines do not separate the adults from the families as well as Disney. Actually, children mean a lot to me so therefore, they do not bother me. It is great knowing that the kids that are acting up are not ours and we don't have to deal with them. It is just as much fun watching those precious faces light up when they see the characters. We are very Disney-fanatics. In fact, our daughter that is getting married in Sept of 2003 is having a Disney theme. Cake, invitations, deco etc. But----we are not ruling out other lines. We would like to go to Alaska. I believe it will be on the Princess. A friend of ours went a couple of years ago and had rave reviews. Maybe a couple of years down the way... after college for the girls is paid for and weddings out of the way.

Ah hah! I get it now !!! You're kids at heart.!!! Thank YOU!!!
I still have the occasional "Calgon, take me away" moments.
I'm so glad to hear your response. I was seeing so many adult only travelers and felt like, once again, I'd better try extra hard to keep my kids "reeled in" and not let them get underfoot or be audible to adult parties trying to enjoy themselves. They are really well behaved kids, but still, they're KIDS and laugh a lot, etc. I think that with the early seating, we'll be just fine. I'm so glad to hear your comments...

We are in our mid-thirties and have no children, not by choice. We are Disney fanatics. We are Disney Vacation Club members and go to Disney 2-3 times per year. We also love to cruise, so what better combination! DCL is great for everyone. And the little girls are so cute dressed like their favorite princess for formal night!
We are leaving Saturday for a 10 day Panama Canal cruise on Princess. If Disney had this itinerary, we would be on it in a heartbeat!

My family is looking forward to our second Disney Cruise on 10/19. Took the 4-day carribean last October and reserved for 2002 before we got off the boat. Just my husband, me and our most wonderful 5 year old son. I've already got my eye out for sales for new clothing to wear on the trip.

Hey! Are any of the guys on this cruise adverse to wearing a tux on formal nights? Please advise.

I have been thinking about Oct. 19, 2002, since we got off of the Wonder last October!! We did the Land/Sea last time, and decided that there was not enough time on the ship!! This time it will have to be a 7 day!!

I am traveling with DH and DD (9).

See you there!!

Goodness!!! What a chatty group. I've registered(?) for the 10/19 cruise in the spring and haven't logged into the boards since. DH and DS (age 5) are looking forward to the cruise. Any other five year olds going?

Questions:

I've got two nice gowns for the trip (they're somewhere in the back of the closet). Probably couldn't get husband into a tux if I paid him, have to pack a suit for him. Problem is what to dress the 5 y.o. in. Could buy him a suit and use it again later for the holidays and church. In the past, I'd try to get him to wear a tie but he'd just whine. Anyone have alternative solutions?

DCL's airfare seems a bit pricey from BWI. If I obtain my own air, can I still get the disney transfers. This is our second cruise, and it was SO convenient for disney to pick us up, carry the bags and everything.

What about the trip insurance. Everyone/anyone got that? This close to the cruise and with no medical history, isn't insurance really a waste?

On last year's cruise, I met several nice moms through the discussion boards and we met (just the girls) for one night after dinner. Any plans like that yet?

Now, how many days/hours/minutes left?

Wooo Hooo more Oct 19 cruisers!! Thank you Krista for letting
me know about this message board!

I am really looking forward to this cruise. It will be our first.
My sister and her husband and my Mother are going with us.
We are taking our 5 kids ages range from 22 to 14. We will be staying on deck 8.

I was getting a little discouraged. My Mom and one of my daughers are flying and I had purchased their airline tickets with Vanguard who announced last month they had filed bankrupcy. 2 weeks ago I found out that the Carribean hotel we will be staying in prior to our cruise is not going to be open. So there were more plans that had to be changed. PHEW!! I hope we are home free now.

Never the less I am soooo excited about this trip. I have been counting down since 454 days before we leave. I was excited to see that there are a few others from Colorado that will also be on the cruise

This proves I can do it!
See I can get on Disney Dudette #1. I had to change my name a little but I made it. I may be slightly computer illiterate but remember Disney Dudette #3 hasn't even read her e-mail. Hello to all my fellow cruisers. I am the one who gets VERY excited and am impossible to stand when the cruise time gets close. Can't wait to meet everyone and we are going to bring some exotic wine from the state of New Jersey to the wine tasting party. To answer the question about gowns - I do have a ball gown which I couldn't resist, one black cocktail dress with beading, a few other dresses and lots of capris.

Ahhhhhh, remember the days! Soon we will be posting again for the reunion cruises! Just felt like re-reading our old post. I wanted to go on to find Darren's first post, but there are ALOT of pages to go through.

ok, is that good on the posting? I know I haven't posted much lately, but I hope this can make up for it!

We need our sandles and black socks talks again!

Honestly Garry, you really should keep that part of your life in the closet!

Julie, I went back and read alot of the old thread too. It was great reading. But instead of the 4 day, I think you should go on the 7 day 11/29. Since you didn't stop in Charlotte to see me, you'll just have to spend a week on the cruise with me!

Have a great Thursday everyone!
Later!

Good morning everyone. Another hot one today. Heard it was 101 yesterday and the same planned for today.

Called the State about emissions and they gave me a number for the first step to complain. That person had to give our complaint to his supervisor and that supervisor will give it to his supervisor and then make a ruling. Formality. Crazy. If that doesn't work to my satisfaction then the State gave me another number to call for step 2. I will pursue as I feel like Susan, 400.00 is not trump change. Heck, I can put that money towards the next cruise!!!!!

I'm working from home today because Turner doesn't feel well. I'll check in an out when I can.

One step at a time, Sandy!

Great job Julie! It was fun reading all those old posts.

Garry: Jerry has question for you. What does a cop do when he drives into the woods by himself?

Bonnie: Sorry. You are going to have to wait for the official unveiling of the new me 10 pounds from now.

Sue: Hope Turner feels better.

Sandy: I hope you can get results on your complaint. I hate the stupid emisions tests.

Kaleigh is officially crawling as of this morning. She doesn't go far yet, but it won't take long. I put a bunch of stuff away today. We have the gates, they just need to be put up.

Jerry doesn't have to go to court tomorrow. It appears he has every Friday off from court. He will work from home.

HELLO TO ALL,
I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BORED TODAY! SO I DECIDED TO CHECK IN.
ANYBODY HAVING A BETTER DAY THAN ME?
I WILL PROBABLY CHECK IN BEFORE WE GO TO THE CAMPGROUND TONIGHT.. WE WILL BE GONE ALL WEEKEND. bye bye, don't want to subject you all to my boredom any longer.
