I was not late this morning but Paul was in his office so I didn't log in. Turner had hockey practice this evening so I have just gotten home.

BALMEX is what I swore by for diaper rash. Nothing else seemed to work for Turner. It was also easier to wipe off of raw skin. Desitin did not work for us.

OK, my wiegh in news. With the Medral and the lousy weather, I didn't expect much this week. I lost 0.6 pounds and I'm very thankful for it. AT least it is still moving downward. Now if I can get through Easter!

Later!

Susan, .06 is still a loss. I am proud of you! With my depression and sadness over Bryan, I haven't concentrated. I am not going to weigh myself for awhile. I feel stressed over weight loss and my sadness.

Advice: The girls graduate from college on Mothers Day at 2:00 and could last 3-4 hours. Want to have a reception for those that do not attend. But-isn't 6 or 7 on Mothers Day late and not fair. What about the day before, is that tacky? Can't do it the following weekend because of the girls birthday and Stacey is leaving town. Also, it is Memorial weekend, I believe, and some people will leave town. What to do, what to do.

Denine, I have the perfect solution to diaper rash but am having a brain fart. I called Stacey for the correct name. Will get back to you. Desitin did not work for my girls.

Taa-taa

Now guys, I haven't lost it. Stacey just called and told me the secret cream for Kaleigh. It is Corona ointment and you can get it at Pet Smart. It is "bag balm". They use it on dairy cows when their udders get sore. My soon to be son in laws family has used it on all the nieces and nephews. The lady that I babysit for uses it for Graci.

I am here!!! I was waiting to see if I had to wake you up Sue!

Udder cream otherwise known as bag balm! LOL! Great for dry hands. I have a big jar of it. Put it on your hands then put a pair of gloves on and sleep. Nice soft hands in the morning. Of course your husbands may not like it! LOL!

Have a good day all. Free breakfast this morning for being a three time "blue star award" winner at work. Lucky me.

Good morning everyone!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I am back from the great beyond!! :D

I haven't had much time to get online lately. I have been extremely busy at work and am bouncing between home and my Mom's taking care of things. Tomorrow is John's dad's Birthday (85) and Kristen will be 10 on the 15th. John's sister is flying in from Houston tonight and we have lots of weekend festivities in the works. I took the day off tomorrow to do some of the prep work. On Saturday is Kristen's first soccer game this spring. Last week was her first scheduled game, but we got 6 inches of snow Friday night :p ! Then Saturday night we are celebrating Kristen's and Papa's birthday with a big bash! He has been out of the hospital only a short time so we have lots to celebrate!! I have invited my mom and sister and they plan on coming. Most of John's family was out of town when my dad died and John's dad was too sick to come to the funeral so this is the first time Mom will be seeing them since everything has happened. I am sure it will be an emotional time. Then on Sunday afternoon we are hosting a baby shower for our nephew's wife who is due in June.
It will be good to see everyone!!

Denine -- I have been thinking alot about you.....remember that you can't go by everything that you read in those baby books!! Children reach milestones in their own time. When Kristen was little she took a little longer to talk and lots of people were giving unsolited "advice" She was just at the late end of normal.....now you can't keep her quiet!!

Take care everyone and have a great day!

WELL, H-E-L-L-O LAURIE! So glad to hear from you. Wow, do you have enough planned for the weekend?

Yup, I said udder cream. It is terrific for dry hands like Bonnie said. Walmart has a generic type but not as good as the real stuff. Happy that I could wake you up, Susan.

Hey, that's not fair Bonnie. Wish I could go out for all those free meals. And you are having my favorite meal today. I will just drool over the keyboard and think of you enjoying yourself. Thanks for the Talbot site. I really do want a pastel colored dress.

Tomorrow I am headed to my nieces school to help with Colonial day. Even with my kids out of public school I still get roped into helping. I don't mind! I watched her everyday from the age of 6 weeks until she was 10. She is like my own.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning

Another beautiful day outside. Think I will start cleaning
my pond this weekend.

Got my dogs groomed yesterday then Bob and I took them on a 4 mile walk. We use to walk 4 miles everyday but have kind of let it go by the wayside since Bob spent the summer in Germany last year. I was too busy keeping up the house by myself.

Mike is in Iraq and Missy is sad. He is expecting to be back home in October. Just in time for our Disney Christmas!

Thanks guys! Kaleigh's behind looks better this morning. It still has a way to go, but at least it doesn't look as raw as yesterday afternoon. It got bad so fast. Jerry changed her diaper for dinner and it was still just red, put desitin on it, changed her again a couple of hours later and she was raw and bleeding. I am changing her more frequently today and will air her out again. I will look for the bag balm. We have used it ocassionaly for residents at work, if their family brings it in.
Bonnie: I am guilty of "prescribing" things too. I think all nurses are, for their family, at least. Plus, I am used to doing it at work. Nursing homes are very different than hospitals. We tell the docs what we want, they say OK, and we write the order. The docs don't come in very often. They are supposed to visit once a month.
Sue: I will keep Balmex in mind.

I weighed myself this morning and nothing. At least it wasn't a gain.

Laurie: Glad to hear form you! You sure are busy! Have a great weekend!

Sandy: I don't see why you can't celebrate graduation the day before. One thing I have to keep reminding myself: food doesn't solve problems. As Dr. Phil would say, you are having a party in your mouth. I don't feel any better after eating _____ , I just feel too full, or guiltier for having done so. I am the queen of eating away depression! I have to remind myself everyday, that food will not solve my problems, it will just make me fatter! Sometimes, I have to take it hour-by-hour.

Barb: I would love to get back to walking, it has just been too miserable! It might get up to 60 by Monday. I am not holding my breath!

Sandy, maybe instead of enjoying each others company at restaurants, we should trade off who's house we go to and work on our gardens together! LOL Heck, that doesn't sound all that fun after looking at it in black and white. I really should get some seedlings going for the vegetable and herb garden, however.

I need to figure out a way to pump gray water from the clothes-washer in the basement, out to the garden this summer. Has anyone done that? Can you believe that technically that's illegal to do, because water is only to be used once! My lawyer uncle told me that. Maybe it's just a Denver Water thing.

OK, time to run along now. Things to do, trouble to get into...

Thanks Denine for the words of wisdom. I know I should live by that and do try hard. I just don't always succeed and my guilt is adding to my depression. My baby, Graci, is using bag balm today. Couldn't believe it after Kaleigh yesterday. Poor Graci, she is so red and close to bleeding, too. She is handling it pretty good. She has 6 teeth and that seems slow. Maybe she is teething again. I think that you did wonderful not gaining this week. You do need to treat yourself once in awhile otherwise you would never stay true to the diet.

Lori, sorry I can't give up on our lunches. We don't do it that often. And besides that, I don't have a garden. That means you would get free labor. Doesn't seem fair to me!!!!

Lori, that gray water issue is kind of strange. I just can't see that enviromentally it would be detrimental using the water from the washing machine. I read in the newspaper that it is illegal. Aren't you worried about the surcharges this summer? They are going to be killers.

Gotta run. Hear Graci in the background getting a little cranky.
Taa- taa!

Got my braces today. OUCH! This may help with the dieting!! Gonna go try to eat dinner. I'll let you know how it goes!

I'll tell you!!! When it rains it pours!!! The crown next to the missing crown came out today!!! Post and all. I immediately called the dentist in a panic and they took me right away!! Spent over 2 hours in that chair!!! The one crown...only 2 years old, can't be replaced! I still have a hole in my mouth and now I need an oral surgeon to dig out the root! $$$$$ Will I ever get a new/used car!!!

Sue sorry to hear about your pain!!! You will get used to it eventually....I hope!

Denine...glad to hear the butt is better!

Laurie!!!!! YEAH!!!! I guess we won't hear from you for another week with that busy schedule!

Ewwww, poor Susan. I can remember the first few days when our girls got their braces. It definitely will be a diet to remember. Baby food, jello, mashed potatoes and broth. YUMMY!

Good grief, Bonnie. Can't believe all that's going on in your mouth! It will be $$$$$$$. I have absolutely wonderful insurance except for appentages. A virus ate at one of my roots about a year ago and had to have a tooth pulled. VERY cheap (free) but to put in that bridge, WOW. I could have died. I am remembering something like 1500.00 was my half and the insurance picked up the rest. OUCH!

Survivor night. I like the rocket scientist and Christy.

Julie, what do you think of American Idol? I think that either Rueben or Josh (the marine's name, right?)will win because Rueben just seems to be sooo popular and Josh because he is a Marine. I like all the guys that are left, quite honestly. I think that it would be nice if a guy did win to show that you don't have to be sexy to sing.

Howdy all! Sorry I have been gone for awhile. I will try to post more often, but I can't promise. Lots of stuff going on here.

Bonnie, well look at it this way.... it happened before your trip! I know I have a tooth that needs to be pulled, but I am TERIFIED I MEAN TERIFIED of dentists. When I walk into a dentist office I get panic attacks! I know I have to get this pulled, but I can't get myself to set foot in an office. Plus I don't think our insurance covers it so it would be big BUCKS to have it done.

Susan, the first few days are pretty rough getting us to them, but in no time you will be so use to them you will forget that you have them.

Laurie, glad to see you back. Have a great weekend and have FUN! You deserve it after all you have been through. Hope to see you posting more often.

Sandy, I couldn't believe that Carmen or Kim (the blonde) didn't get booted off this week. I liked Ricky (was that his name?). He wasn't my favorite, but I didn't think that he should have been voted off this week. My favorite is Clay and Rueben! I think it will come down to those two. Trenyce is also good, but I don't think that she will get to the final two, maybe the final three. Josh is good, in a country sense but Rueben and Clay are good no matter what they sing. I think Clay is a cutie and Rueben is a big teddy bear type.

Denine, I used desitin on my two. It worked real well and I am a strange one, but I like the smell of it. Most people tell me that they hate the smell of it. You asked about the week of the 25th to get together? Isn't that your birthday weekend? Will you guys have special plans? That Sunday is out the 26th. We have my neice's birthday to go to them. BUT WE WILL GET TOGETHER!

Well, gonna go! (was this an ok post sisters? Better?) I'll try to post later on!

Well, the nor'easter is here!!! Woke up to hear rain being pelted against the window...I think I also heard the wind. YUK!!! I wish I could stay home! I dread the walk from the train to the office. I will be soaked. I wish I had wadders.

Thank you Julie!!!!!! The Ya Ya's have nothin' on us! What shall we call ourselves?
