Oct. 16-23, 2010 - Bring Back the Magic

what a night and day here in Philly. The storm that came through yesterday and today has caused some serious flooding. The river down the street from us floods from time to time but this time it has reached even higher and is reaching houses.

Roads are closed everywhere due to flooding and downed trees. We were fortunate to have no damage.

Hope everyone else in the Philly area is doing ok and have not been impacted.

 Glad you are ok.

just booked our Boatswains tickets in GC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:yay:

FYI, the Promenade lounge is on Deck 3 Aft. Here is a picture of the lounge.

Well, it's after midnight in my neck of the woods so I can finally say, 2 WEEKS!!! I can't believe we are getting so close!!

Good Morning All

Well two weeks from today we will all be wakeing up in the Raddison having breakfast and awaiting the 9:30 Shuttle to port.
Today Nancy and I are headed for Bangor Maine to Husson Univ to Home Coming and watch our grandson football game.
And yes Mrs L im taking my camara so I can take some folage picture. It should be beautiful up there . It's about 100 miles north of us so they are about two weeks ahead of us in Fall color.
We should have a fun day. Of course our oldest son David who is Brandons dad and April and other grand kids will be joining us. Have to get there early to set up Tailgating before the game.
Everybody have a great day. Will catch up when we get back.

I forgot to mention this bit yesterday. I am sitting there talking to the doctor, mind you she is probably in her late 30's early 40's. I told her I needed to get well since we were leaving in 2 weeks for vacation. She wanted to know where were were going. I told her we were going on a Disney cruise. She replies, "is the the Big Red Boat?" Yikes! I said that hasn't been around in at least 20 years. Me thinks Disney needs to do a bit more advertising!

I just realized this morning that she gave me 2 weeks of antibiotics. So, in 2 weeks I will getting on the Magic after taking the last of my horse-pill antibiotics.

I am almost done with my FE gifts.

In 3 weeks our cruise will be ending :-((((

The Magic came back to Port Canaveral early this morning and should be on her way to drydock later today. Please post if you find out where she is going for drydock :thumbsup2

The closer our cruise gets, the more frantically I am trying to keep up with work and work so far ahead that I won't be returning to total chaos after our holidays :scared1: - this is why I'm around here so rarely lately.

Anyway, lots of posts to comment on:

Annika that was a fabulous trip report! And your photos are wonderful :)
I hope you don't mind, but I shared your link on our DIS thread and also our Facebook page. Can't wait to meet you in a couple of weeks

Annika - I also shared the link to your report. It was great!

Thank you both for the compliment, of course it was/is perfectly okay to share the link to our Papenburg visit!

Hello all!
Just wanted to introduce myself and family. We booked this trip well over a year ago and can't believe it's almost here! My name is Meghan and my husband is Joe. We have a 5 year old son and a 2 year old daughter. We will also be traveling with my parents. We have cruised the Wonder in 2003 and 2008 but this is our first 7 day on the Magic. Not much more to add, but just wanted to introduce ourselves and say how much these boards have helped us prepare and how excited we are!

Hi, I'm Margo, my husband is Pat. This will be our first cruise, and we are bringing along our two youngest children. Blake is turning 17 tomorrow (happy birthday!) and Duncan is 12.
We are Disney fanatics and have been to WDW 10 times, and DL 5 times. We rarely vacation anywhere else (and when we do it's usually to see family). We've been DVC members since 1997 and love it.

Hello and welcome to all "new arrivals" in our thread! :yay:

In 3 weeks we will be in Cozumel

Wow, I can hardly believe how blue that water is :lovestruc - I am so much looking forward to seeing it with my own eyes! :cheer2:

To all of us going to Grills.
I called Grills the other day, and basically was told to call back on the 15th. Im going to call again tom to make sure that the woman I talked to understood that we are a group of almost 30. Worst case scenario, since Dani and I will be at the port at around 10am the latest, well drive over and talk to them in person.
Ill use the Disney group to keep things simple. (1 less thing for me to forget)

Thank you so much for organizing this for all of us! :flower3:

Sure . .. 3:00 in the Promenade Lounge?

Christian and I will definitely be there! :cheer2:

We have . . .

I think the last time I was this excited was at my wedding :yay::lmao:

I'm so glad to hear that we are not the only ones ... I have pretty much completed all the "small stuff" (like door magnets, pre-written address labels, and tons of lists ;)) months ago, but I am a slacker with the actual packing. All I have done so far is throw some small odds and ends into a paper bag so as not to forget them later, and bring uzp one suitcase from the basement ... I need to start packing!!! :scared1:

I just realized this morning that she gave me 2 weeks of antibiotics. So, in 2 weeks I will getting on the Magic after taking the last of my horse-pill antibiotics.

I hope you get well soon, and that the meds will have kicked in a little bit by now already, so that you already feel slightly better. :flower3:

In 3 weeks our cruise will be ending :-((((

I know, it sounds horrible, but for DH and I at least it means that our second-ever trip together to WDW is about to start :dance3:

Just thought of something, for all of those who are driving themselves, who may have never driven to the port before.

Coming from either the airport, or from Disney property, when you get to the Beachline/528, stay in the RIGHT LANE after the airport. The road will split, 1/2 going to the Kennedy Space Center, the other half turning into A1A.(Watch your speed carefully here. The speed changes dramatically from 70 mph on the 528 to 45 mph in parts on AIA) If you make a mistake, and head towards the KSC, theres no easy way to get back heading towards the port. Its all back roads, and they are poorly marked. Even if you catch the mistake, and turn around on Challenger Blvd, which is the 7 mile road heading towards KSC, there is no exit onto the 528, heading east to the port.

I can hardly believe that it is only less than two weeks away!!!! It seemed like it would never get here back when we booked in January!

Tell me about it - we booked in May 2009, and the fact that we are really going soon still seems a bit surreal to me :)
