Thanks for the beautiful pictures! :flower3: Also the info about morning and afternoon tours. We are definitely morning people, plus I like the idea of having time to walk around town. I didn't know there was a Margaritaville on Grand Cayman :woohoo: Do they have a Margarita Volcano???

There is actually a Margaritaville in each port we will be visiting and yes we visited all of them back in 2007. I do not remember seeing a volcano but the one in Grand Cayman has a good water slide in it and the one in Cozumel has a water trampoline outside. Yes we will be visiting them all again. The one in Cozumel has a great view out on to the ocean and Magic.

Cool! :yay: I knew about the ones in Key West and Cozumel, but not the one in Grand Cayman! :woohoo:

I plan on visiting the Porch of Indecision and the Margarita Volcano at Margaritaville in Universal after we get back from the cruise (oh, and there's this Harry Potter thing too ;)) This will be quite a Margaritaville tour! :drinking1

Hey Julie! Where the heck is that lost shaker of salt???

I have never been to a Margaritaville so it sounds like a plan.:banana:

Yes it does!!!

Sorry I can not make the 16 weeks go by quicker but I can post a few pics of the 7 mile beach break excursion from 5/08. The water was crystal clear and the beaches were very nice. You should note this excursion has a morning time and an afternoon time. We went on the morning time and walked around the town visiting Margaritaville afterwards. The one funny thing we noted was there was a Carnival excursion right next to us and they did not get umbrellas or drinks. Some were still a little hung over if you know what I mean. We will be doing this excursion again this year.

Your pics are great! Makes me want to jump right into that water right now! ;)

Can we visit 7 mile beach on our own, or is it a private beach accessible only through an excursion? Just wondering because I like to stay longer at beaches than excursions usually allow.

Much of the 7 mile beach is public and you can do it on your own. DISser's have posted that you can take a cab or even take public transportation to the beach (search for threads named Grand Cayman on your own). From reports it sounds like you can get dropped off at a hotel (sorry I can not remember the name) and use it's facilities. Since this is a tender port we like just using DCL for this excursion. You get priority off/on the ship and air conditioned busses are waiting for you as you get off the tender. They take you to a very nice area of the beach that has a changing area, chairs, umbrellas, restrooms and a drinks. You can also purchase food there as well if you wish. After around 3 to 4 hours you are bussed back to the port area. We walked around and hit Margaritaville for lunch and drop plenty of coin on shirts :rotfl2:.

Excellent! :thumbsup2

Sounds wonderful!!!Beach in the am, back to the ship for showers and lunch and on to Pina Colada's!!!!!

This 7 Mile Beach Excursion is starting to sound better and better with everything I hear

Are you all going to be on the morning excursion or the afternoon one? DH and I would love to go on the morning excursion if we can get places on that, and it would be great to go together with people we know (well, will know by then as we will probably have met at the Radisson :)).

Have a great weekend everybody - DH and I are busy with the final preparations for our garden party this afternoon, please keep your fingers crossed for us that the weather will hold! (Quite lovely and about 70 F, but they say there's a possibility of rain later. Again :sad2:)

Oh, and of course happy belated birthday Joanne, and to Deb and family, best of luck with the last wedding preparations!

I've never been to a Margaritaville, in fact before reading the cruise forums I had never even heard of it or of Jimmy Buffett (may be he's not popular in Europe or in Germany, or maybe I'm just hopelessly uninformed :sad2:).

But even without that cultural background, it sounds like a nice place, so we might check it out in one of the ports. :3dglasses

Frank & I will definitely be going in the morning.

Oh, the HORROR!!! :scared1: You just CAN'T cruise the Caribbean without listening to Jimmy Buffet! We will definitely have to introduce you to Jimmy & Margaritaville.

We can help your being a Buffett newbie. We will turn you into a parrothead in no time. You will be singing along by the time we hit the 3rd Margaritaville. A Caribbean cruise is just not right without Buffett's songs. The Margaritaville in Key West is a little bit of walk to get to but the other two are very close to where the Magic docks or tender drops you off.

Jimmy Buffet is very easy to listen to and you will love it in a minute. The one in Key West is nothing spectacular, the others ones I have been in have been a lot of fun. Key west is just too hot and stinky!! They have great frozen drinks and coconut shrimp!!!

Have fun at your party, Patrick says it was nice today. He had to drive someone to the Airport in Frankfort so he was wandering the streets.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. It was a nice day, missed my boys, but I got a call from one and a very sweet email from the other. They told me they would shop and send me some thing when the Scott got to Germany! I told them and Hummels or Swarski would be accepted.:rotfl:
