At the moment, I have been talking with Dreams Unl about booking this one. This will be my wife, son, and me first trip on any cruise. Probably a dumb question, and admittedly may be the wrong spot, but has anyone here used D Ulmt? Also to hold the cabin we are thinking about depositing on one person and adding the family over the next 2 months, has anyone done this? Any help would be great!! I m kinda glad both threads are over 100 pages as it gives me something to read while I walk on a treadmill!! lol

I may be mistaken but I believe my MIL (dizzylanddeb) has booked though DUL before, you may PM her and ask. she is just a couple quotes down from here.

I don't have an answer to your question since this is our first time sailing Disney, but want to welcome you to our Bring Back the Magic cruise! :woohoo:
Hopefully, someone here knows the answer and can help you make your decision :thumbsup2

:flower3:

Today was my daughter's 3rd birthday. Lots of fun there. :)

Also got my macy's sailor mickey--WOW. It's huge. Bigger than Pal Mickey, speaks a few phrases, is quite cute.

The only dumb question is the question not asked.(Or something along the lines of when does Spider-man sign autographs with Aquaman, on the Wonder? Or the ever popular, How do I use the exit? Yes I did hear that one. :rolleyes1)

DU is my preferred DCL TA since we get the better obc thru them, plus theyll keep watching for deals that affect the amount of my cruise.Last year I got $600 back from my cruise when the Fl resident rate caught up with my cruise. I didnt have to do or say anything. They automatically did it, and put the money back in my checking account.I got an email one day that said to watch for the refund, and that it would be within a set time frame. Plus they upped our obc for the same cruise.Ive done a fair amount of research thru different ta's for DCL cruises, and I havent found any that can match DUs OBCs and service. The only thing I can hold against them, is that everything is done via email. Though if I have a pressing problem and need to speak to someone with a pulse, not now but right now, Ill call DCL directly and ask.

I asked about your situation, when I booked thru DU about a month ago. The answer I got,was this. It really depends on which cabin cat you are looking at. For a family of 4 to do that, DCL could not hold and guaruntee a quad(cat 6) in the time frame I was looking at( and that was 2 weeks.) I had to put the downpayment for the 4 of us at one time, to gurauntee the cabin cat.Since you are traveling with 3,you might have a little more leeway in cabin selection, but dont hold me to it.I would think that you would prob get a similar answer if you asked DU.I would email them and ask just to be sure. It wont hurt.

Yeah this is the only thing that has bothered me really. I made a mention to a "agent" about the phone number and have been ignored about it. Sorta leaves me uneasy.

I did, with a cabin I could it but with a GTY it would sorta be kinda pointless. I'm a realist and the earliest I could lock down the money for this would be about Jan/Feb. The "agent" said that the concern there would be book a room, may not be able to add the wife and kid later due to space available. According to DU, in case most of ya didn't know, Cats 10-8 are in GTY. I was surprise by this and a little nervous as well. I don't mind eating a little cost later to get something that we could afford. The thing that makes me nervous is the "selling out," and another personal reason in which I hope to share in the coming months (hopefully be an interesting read.)

LOL I think I'm Rambling at about stuff now and its like 2 in the morning.. G'night

One question I just now thought of: is the Character Breakfast a first come first server? or how does that work? Thanks everyone for your replies...

First off, HI ALL!!!! It has been a long time since I checked in. We are sailing on the Magic in Feb, so that is where my focus is right now, once that is done, I will move over to this thread.....:cool1:

We have used Dream Unlimited before. Great place to book your Disney Cruise with. No problem from their end, only problems that we have caused. I would book everyone at the same time. If you only book one person to hold the cabin, that person will pay a double rate, i beleive. Also, this is the problem we ran into on our Feb cruise. The ship can only accomodate so many adults, so many teens, so many children and so many infants. When that number is reached, they will not book any more no matter what. Another problem is that once a certain catagory or section of the ship is filled, you cannot add anymore persons. We are sailing in Feb. There were 10 of us in three cat 11 rooms with specific room numbers. We went to add one more adult and we could not. We had to bump one room to a cat 10 gty, add that person, then pay more cause the three people are no in cat 10, instead of the slightly cheaper cat 11.
So I would book everyone that is going now, to eliviate any future hassles. It is easier to remove a person then add one later. Trust me.

Ive never done the character breakfast so I cant help you there.
Heres the deal with GTY.
All a gty means is that you are guarunteed a particular cabin class. For example. I am GTY for this cruise, in a cat 6. They will not drop me to a lower cabin cat (7-12) I can only stay at a 6 or go higher. It all depends on Disney and how fast the different cabin cats sell out. Also, they will open and close different categories on the ship almost at random. When I first tried to book, there was no cat 6s available.Only 5s or better.(Same size room as a 6 only 1 deck higher and a little more expensive.) When I went to send in my deposit, I looked real quick on DCLs site and the 6s opened up again.DU changed my reservation request and everything else within 24 hours. To be honest, if you are having issues with the deposits, ask DU, or call Disney and ask how fast the ship is selling. That should give you a fairly good idea of what to expect and when.

Ive heard it both ways regarding the number of people on the ship and also limits to the number of children onboard as determined by the kids clubs capacity.Ive asked DCL reps and also Ive seen it here on the board, and gotten different responses. Honestly I would think that the answer lies somewhere in between.Exactly where I dont know.

:cool1: It's Friday :thumbsup2
That means we now have . . .

FRIDAY's until we sail :boat:

Hi Angie,

Sorry to hear you are having problems with the new dog. Friends of ours had the same problem you are having. It took quite a while to get it under control but they were finally successful..

One thing they did in the beginning was set up a camera to tape him. They would leave the house at different intervals starting out at 15 minutes and working their way up. The tape would give them an idea if the anxiety started right away, was there a trigger, or was there a specific time it would set in. It can be a lot of work. Guess it just depends on how much time you can dedicate to the training.

What breed of dog is it, pure bred or mix?

Thanks for the idea. She is a mixed breed we think (with the vets help) that she is retriever/cocker spaniel mix. She is doing better its taking a lot of work but the vet has us giving her Melatonin to help calm her down. So far its working for short amounts of time.

I used cruise plann ers and have been very happy with her service. I know a few of us booked through her. My understanding is (and someone can correct me if I'm wrong) but if a certain amount of people book with her she has a little reception on the ship for us. If you want her info pm I would be happy to share with you
