OCT 16 2010......7 Night Western....

So a little bit of an update, because.. idk why lol. Initially, I got a little discouraged when I called DCL and asked about the cruises available on the 16th/30th. They told me that there were only 1 RM in the 10-8 cats left and it was GTY. I panicked, Got sad, and realized that my dreams may be crushed. (Im working on my blog as we speak to explain this)

I checked again this weekend this time on the sight and it looks more like the Eastern cruise was the case as it had originally disappeared. I m still hopeful that I may be able to book in Dec and (crossing my fingers) that something may still be available. If not we may end up at WdW, which isn't a bad consolation...

Heres another thought, though I cant swear this would be the case. Check a few other places that sell cruises. Sometimes, Disney may only have 1 room left, but TA, A might. I dont know too much about it, but I think and I could be wrong, in that Disney sells/assigns/gives a certain number of rooms of each category to different TAs. So, even though Disney may be out, someone else may not. You can transfer to DU,DCL or any of the other alphabet soup agencies out there when your ready.

So Thanksgiving is today, then, is it? We don't get to hear anything about it here in Germany, it's not a holiday at all but I wish all of you a very happy Thanksgiving!!!


I haven't posted in a while, been really busy at work but have had great news: Both my and DH's bosses are okay with us taking such a long holiday next Oct/Nov, so now the last of the potential major obstacles standing in the way of this cruise and the following WDW vacation is gone!


Pretty soon I hope I will also be able to say that our post-cruise WDW stay is booked, and then the flight will be next. We have just found out that German airline carrier Lufthansa is going to change their baggage allowance for tickets booked post-2009/12/31, so with tickets issued after that date we will only be allowed one piece of luggage per person free.

No way we'll be able to stow everything for 3.5 weeks in one suitcase per person!

So we'll book the flight early and then be allowed to have two suitcases each. So we may be able to avoid looking too casual on formal nights after all

That's great that the bosses have ok'd your trip!

The airline we use only allows one bag per person checked and they have done that for a while now. But we usually just go for a week so it isn't a problem. The October trip will be a little over two weeks but we are driving so I can take more, although we just got rid of our big SUV for a smaller SUV so I will need to limit things a bit.

I love Thanksgiving! My parents and our niece came over to our house. I cooked a turkey with all the trimmings and my mother made pies...yum. Now we are putting up our Christmas tree.

Hi all! Happy Thanksgiving! Sorry I have been MIA for such a long time. It has been a rough 2 months over here. My father passed away in Oct. and my brother who is 43yrs had a heart attack the beginning of Nov. My brother is doing better now, just very tired and weak.


Despite all of the events of the past 8 weeks, we had a very nice Thanksgiving!

On to other great news... we are going to WDW in January. We weren't planning on a trip then, but my 19yr step-daughter will be interning at WDW until May!! We officially have a CAST MEMBER!!!!! She is a sophomore at Bowling Green State University and she went for info on the internship and applied and got it!! She doesn't know where she will be working yet, but she will be working "counter service/quick serve" department. We will be leaving on the 14th and come back on 24th. It will be a nice get away, but even nicer to say we have a CAST MEMBER!!! (can you tell I'm super excited for her?)

Called the cruise lines this afternoon after receiving our confermation which was origanly under gurantee for a cabin. I asked them what the avalibity was for a Cat 10 deck 7 inside deluxe and to our surprise we got what we wanted. we have 7509 aft thats fine with us.
