That's because the international snow line is the border between our 2 countries. We are forever covered in snow, we have polar bears as pets and snowshoe to work everyday. Uphill in 3 feet of drifting snow during a blizzard and that's both ways!
Alaska is just a wee bit to the north of us
No seriously I work with a guy that was born and raised in Ketchikan and it does look very lovely. Can't wait to go.

Kritter, I read your trip report about your problems at Cozumel. That taxi driver should be charged with kidnapping. Taking you somewhere you did not want to go. I can't believe it. This was just an attempt to get as much money out of the tourists as they could. I can see why you don't like Cozumel now. Was this one of Disney's excursions? When we go next year we all better be on our toes, or just stay onboard the ship. Thanks for sharing your experience Kritter.

I aim to please - and in the process I am simply entertaining myself a bit too. ON my last DCL sailing you probably know I posted almost 5,000 entries among the 150-200,000 postings! And STILL ... I was nowhere NEAR being the top contributor! I think I was only #7 or barely among the top 10... I think. < wink >

And on THAT monster thread (for the Panama Canal Repo last August)... we ONLY sprinted for the postings that approached every THOUSANDTH contribution. We let all the HUNDREDTH postings go by without fanfare! Even so - we often had more than one THOUSANDTH "sprint" a day!

Oh well... not many DCL sailings carry that much insanity. So - yeah - I confess - I'm one of the looney ones. Hangin' out here at the invitation of a few old friends who are pressing me to sail on the 16th. Some may know (actually - very few probably) that in recent years my spouse and I have become a bit spontaneous with booking things. Some things -get booked far in advance - while others have been qualified as spontaneous flings.

With the passing of my MIL we're now working on a long term plan for DCL in 2010... the jury is still out over here as to which date we'll select as a GROUP.

And Thnak You for your compliments and gentle encouragement.... in spite of the fact I'm not quite booked yet - but very seriously inclined for this date to sail with a few good old friends.
