. Halloween isn't such a big thing here in Germany, it's only begun being celebrated AT ALL in the last eight years or so, because that was when companies started offering Halloween merchandise here so it was more or less an attempt to get us spending more money, not a real feeling for Halloween. It has never become really big with Germans, though, and even though I've kept some sweets at home on Halloween for the three years since we have moved to our new home, no kids have ever come trick or treating

There was a poem in it that basically said that we left a gift, rang the bell and ran so you wont know who we are that left the gift and instructing us to do the same to two of my neighbors. Also, to put up a poster that says that our house already received a gift so we dont get gifted again. Most of the houses on our street that had kids already had a sign so I left gifts on the next street over. It was kind of fun
weve never been involved in anything like that before. It's been busy, busy for over here. But we did manage to get out tonight and take DS trick or treating with his friends at a local private school. His friend's dad is the Residence Administrator and Dean of Students. Lots of fun. DH and I wore MNSSHP shirts and DS dressed as a pirate and had his Happy Halloween light up lanyard with the light up ghost that we bought at the party!
Any Halloween plans? I would love a week of vacation just to get caught up on some things around the house since work has incredibly busy and we were recently hit with the swine flu.
Wish I was going to MVMCP.....

Last week I came home to find a plastic pumpkin on my front porch filled with small gifts for my DD2.5.There was a poem in it that basically said that we left a gift, rang the bell and ran so you wont know who we are that left the gift and instructing us to do the same to two of my neighbors. Also, to put up a poster that says that our house already received a gift so we dont get gifted again. Most of the houses on our street that had kids already had a sign so I left gifts on the next street over. It was kind of fun weve never been involved in anything like that before.
DD2.5 is going to wear a bear costume for Halloween. Two of our friends (they live in a neighborhood where they dont get any kids) are coming over to hand out candy for me so that DH and I can take DD trick or treating. She has been practicing saying trick or treat. We usually get about 70-80 trick or treaters. My parents get about 100-150 trick or treaters. DH and I are not going to dress up though.
I would like to dress up for the Mickeys Halloween party for our Oct 2010 trip but DH doesnt want to.
And we haven't even carved a pumpkin yet. I guess we'll squeeze that in some where. We are going to take our son Trick Or Treating around the neighborhood and then we are having a party at our house after that. Should be fun![]()
Sounds like you just got "Boo"ed. We do it in our neighborhood as well. Its lots of fun. Wow! You guys get lots of kids trick or treating in your neighborhood just like ours. We didn't decorate at all this year because October just flew by.
Not sure which costume we're going to put DS in. It was 85 yesterday for the trick or treat at the school. Today, its 70. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 64. Who knows what Saturday is going to be like. I tell you, DS's Halloween social calendar is busier than mine ever was. Yesterday was trick or treating at his friend's school, tomorrow there's Halloween party and Halloween costume parade at his school. Saturday, he has a Halloween carnival and a halloween party, then trick or treating in our neighborhood with the outlaws over and some friends. I need to take Monday off just to recover. And we haven't even carved a pumpkin yet. I guess we'll squeeze that in some where.
As for dressing up for MNSSHP 2010, you should dress up. If DH doesn't want to, he shouldn't. You'll both fit in the crowd just fine. There are just as many people who dress up as those who don't.
Have a great time! Post some pics. I bet your DD looks adorable in her bear costume.
ber. We have never seen Disney decorated for Christmas and we are going to MVMCP so we are excited about that. My MIL and 19 year old niece are coming with us.
Yeah ...Another Friday

Time is ticking away
