Welcome back to those that have been away from the theard. :)

Voting has ended for our cruise name and I will be posting the name later today, as I'm waiting to get annichan confirmation pm.:thumbsup2

Have a great day everyone.

If everything works out the way we plan, we'll be staying at WDW for another ten nights after the cruise - this whole holiday is going to be so great, I can't wait for it to come around.

I only hope that it will all work out - we still need the room booking, the flight and - last but not least - our employers' OK for 3.5 weeks holiday all at once! We Germans are really lucky, we have six weeks' holiday every year (or at least most of us do), but the employer usually expects you to not take more than two consecutive weeks. I'm already working on my strategy for talking my boss into it

Six weeks vacation:worship:...nice. Hope it all works out for you.:)

My DH has 3 weeks vacation a year and he can no longer accumulate any of it or he losses it. I, on the other hand, have none and have had none for a while now since I have been doing temp jobs the past couple of years. Most jobs seem to start out with only 1 week of vacation after you have been with them for a year and no paid sick time or personal days. So even if I find permanent work now, this trip will be unpaid:mad: but family vacations are worth it.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the votes are in and the name of our cruise will be .....

Bring Back The Magic

Annichan and I would like to thank everyone that voted. I'm glad we finally got this settled. We had a few people anxious to start on magnets and FE gifts (I was one of those) and now we can all get started.

YEAH:thumbsup2

Happy Friday to everyone :joker:

We have . . .
myst05-c.gif
myst00-c.gif

FRIDAY's until we sail :boat:

Next year at this time, we will be on Castaway Cay :woohoo:

Hope everyone has a great weekend :flower3:

Maybe kritter as the first poster could change the thread name so that it holds our cruise name again?

Have a great weekend everybody!

Yes, I do realize how lucky I am with six weeks! However, of course I don't go away on vacation for a total of six weeks every year, it's more like one vacation away from home, and the other weeks will be spent one at a time staying at home, sleeping later at usual but then doing the usual chores :laundy:.

Just wanted to avoid starting a cliché that all Germans are always lazing on some sunny beach (or does that exist already?) ;)

Spending some of those weeks at home sounds good to me too.:)

:) You're so funny! No seriously, you've got 12 weeks a year, amazing, I envy you :lmao:

Well although I know some people who get 12 weeks a year here in Germany ... the school kids! But I reckon that should be about roughly the same in the States, right?

Anyway, it's 10 pm and I'll call it a day ... Have a good evening everybody!

Just wanted to tell you all we finally got a dog. We'd been looking since July and this week fell in love with a 2 1/2 old dog from our animal shelter.

I was going to attach a photo on here but can't figure out how to do it.:)

Well Annichan, I sure do wish I did have 12 weeks vacation. But, alas I only have 3 weeks.:confused3 But in about 4 years I'll be retiring and then have all of the vacation time I want. (DW:love: will probably kick me out of the house though!!!):lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:
Well guys, I've got to go out and do my yard work.:scared1: I skipped it last week-end since we were at WDW then. (Did I say I miss being at WDW:sad::sad::sad:)
Now my grass is taller then the neighbors dog. At least with the grass this tall it keeps the little yippy pest from doing his business in MY yard. And does friendly neighbor come over and clean it up
nnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! Idiot!!!
Ya'll have a great week-end.

Hello! We just got off the Disney Magic yesterday. It was the Oct 10th St. Croix special E. Carribean.

While we were on the ship we rebooked for next year for this cruise. Glad to be joining you!!

It will be be myself (Nita), DH (Michael) and 2 kids DD will be 10 and DS will be 5.

Okay. This has to prob be record for the shortest tenure ever as part of a DIS Group... but we are dropping off this cruise.

Our school calendars for 2010/2011 were released yesterday. When we were on the ship last week and booked this for Oct 16th 2010 we were guessing that some fall break days would fall in there. Well, the calendar showed there were NO holidays the week of the 16th and my DD and DS would miss all of those days of school. DD will be in 5th grade which is supposed to be very challenging. She's already behind and paying for missing a week and a half of 4th grade last week. Plus, next year our little one will be in kindergarten.

And the calendar that came out yesterday showed when Spring Break will be...which we didn't know before...and is usually very high on Disney.

Well we priced the Spring Break week and it is only $50 more than the Oct 16th cruise. Plus we get $75 additionaly in onboard credit. That surprised me. Spring Break week is usually high.

So...no brainer...I'm going to have the kids stay in school and we'll do it Spring Break instead.

Just changed it this morning. We'll be in a secret porthole room. It will be out of LA and we'll go to the Mexican Riveria. Something different after 7 cruises out of Port Canaveral. I haven't been to LA since I was about 20.

Sorry guys!!! Esp to the Parrotheads. I was looking forward to sailing with ya'll.

We'll be joining you! Woohoo!

Our first cruise, Meredith (3) and baby boy arriving Feb 2010.
DH and myself. 42/34

Woo! Booked today. Was going to do the Members Only DVC Cruise, but for less points, got this cruise instead. Rock on!
*boogies*

I totally understand. We are going on this cruise right in the middle of testing for our son. Thankfully our principle preapproved our trip.

I hope you guys have a great trip.
