I usually see that on threads when someone is trying to stir the pot or ruffle feathers. One of the first couple of posts after the name change suggestion was popcorn. It was obvious at that point that things were going to take a turn for the worse.

Hey all:

I'm sorry for making a big deal out of all this! I was really hoping to have fun with you all over the next year and ten weeks and during our cruise. I hope I still can. This seemed so fun up until the vote started... I hope we can move forward. I'd hate to see my family excluded from all the fun that our group is going to have like the fish extenders and .... well whatever else the group does together. Is there enough Disney Magic left in this group to forgive a cruisemate?????

Anything other than that original title!!! Right? I mean why would anyone ever want to keep the title that we've had for 10 months.

Whoa... Where did this tone come from?

I see that my attempt to be a peacemaker was for naught. This was just a suggestion for any of us to use. This way there would be no hurt feelings.

With the suggestion, I thought that we would be able to find some common ground that we all could agree on. But sadly, I'm sensing that no suggestion made by anyone will ever be good enough for you to replace your beloved "Bring Back the Magic."

I'm okay with that. I have learned through my career to not take things too seriously and definitely to not take things too personally. With the job I have, I would have been in prison years ago if I took things too personally. We all should be able to do what makes us happy and I think if you want to keep the name then that is what you should do. No hurt feelings from me!

I don't care if it's done secretly or not. But some may because if they voted differently from the "Parrothead Pirate" clique they may not be accepted and possibly be taunted.

Not accepted and be taunted????? Come on, that's ridiculious.

My family being there and the Parrothead Pirate "Clique" as you call them was the best part of our last cruise. Some of the "Clique" will be lifelong friends. I am still hopeful that months or years after this cruise that I will feel the same way about the Disers on this cruise too.

Sorry. It just feels as if I've found myself on the outside looking in.

I don't feel that way. I just didn't see the point in changing the name just to change it. But it was kind of insulting to change it to a generic phrase. I could see if someone had a name in mind that really meant something to them. At that point they should lobby to change it to that.

That is my opinion that I felt got lost along the way.

I'm done with the name thing. I just want to move on. ...And be a part of the fun .

Moving on sounds great! We have a spirited group and that's a good thing!

Although we still need to bring this to a conclusion, let's tie up these loose ends.

If, and it's a BIG if, we are still choosing one of the suggestions and are voting as a family...the RanCan vote for all to see goes to "The Magic...Back in Paradise."

If the poll is now invalid and done then disregard. We'll move on and this will be nothing but a memory with good times ahead for all!!!!!!!!!

I would hope that no one would exclude you because of your comments. I for one have no problems with you or anyone else on the board. I think we just need to move on with this name thing and get back to planning our cruise. There are so many other things to talk about Like the following questions I have...


1) Can anyone recommend a good hotel for us to stay in the night before our cruise?

3)Suggestions for door magnets. Mousemadness and I have seen some magnets posted that people made out of the mouse ears. Does anyone know how to do that? I would love some advise on doing this.

4)When making the items to go on your door do you put your child(ren)'s name on it, everyones first name or just your surname?
My reason for asking and this may sound stupid was for safety reasons. BEFORE You laugh remember this is my first cruise with a child. I'm not a freaky parent but it crossed my mind last night while talking to Monica and we decided to ask you all before we moved ahead on things.

This thread has taken a bad turn. There is no way to delete the poll. I suggest that a new thread is started for this cruise group so that this one can be closed. Continued posting in the manner that is on the last few pages could result in the meet thread being closed entirely due to violating DIS board guidelines.

4. NO FIGHTING/SARCASM: While we'd like to think that a Disney fan site is always lighthearted, there are times when there are disagreements. Let's face it, there are certain topics that can transform any of us into a raging "Donald Duck." When you sense this is happening, we ask that you step away from the discussion before it escalates into a fight. Just like Mom always said about fighting, we don't care who started the argument and we don't want it on the DIS. (Okay, she didn't say the part about the DIS, but you know what we mean.) No attacking others and no sarcasm please. Either will result in an infraction

I hope that everyone is able to move on and enjoy the rest of your planning and cruise.
