Oct. 15, 2006 (4 nights on the "New" Wonder)

ICE

I have heard that there are some people who are afraid of clowns. That is a very unusual condition!
What is everyone most afraid of?
I can deal with it now, but, I am scared of spiders. When I was younger I did not even want to be on the same planet as a spider. :scared:

IGLOO

I'm afraid of spiders (and other creepy crawlies) and tornados! I'm not too keen on flying either but I can do it at least...I know people who will not.

Tonight we're going to the drive-in theater. They're showing Click and The Davinci Code. Does anyone else have a drive-in theater close to them? I think it's so fun! The weather is perfect today too, not too hot and not at all humid :thumbsup2

Have a great weekend everyone! Can't wait to hear all about it on Monday.

ESKIMOS

jules- that is so awesome that you got to see that band i was talking to my dad about how when i get older i am going to aggravate my kids by listening to boy bands hehe.

i when to the HHN with the clowns it was very scary. but i am not exactly afraid of them.

i am terrified of fire. i mean its a bad phobia. i can handle a candle on the table or something if you dont touch it but i definitly can not have candles lit in my room and would prefer them not in the house but my mom likes them. i cant even light a lighter. and when i use the microwave i have to hide behind the wall. that is kind of weird i know.

auntie. do you think that you are scared of spiders because of what happened with your mom? that is why mom(jane) said that she is so scared of them.

we do not have a drive in theater around here that i am aware of but i know there are some in orlando. and i really want to see click that looks like a fun movie.

SLED

I know we have some drive in theatres around this area but I have not been in years. I have good memories of going as a child and it still sounds like fun to me but my dh is no fun and would not go. :sad2:

No, Alie, I don't think about that your grammie got bit by a bad spider once. I am sure I was scared before I even knew that story. Spiders just freak me out because they are fast and they can get on me and suprise me or even lower on me from the ceiling! Its horrible! I think they look freaky too. :scared1:

ride*

i sure hope my mom is having fun. it is 4 am and i havent slept all night. i cant sleep without my parents and i dont know why. this message is kind of pointless but i am trying to keep myself occupied so that i dont psych myself out.

HORSE

Good Morning Everyone. Wow, none of us were very chatty over the weekend! I hope everyone is doing well.

Hey Alie, I hope you got to sleep eventually!

MJ, we are ready for our Universal report!

Jockey

Hi Everyone, I had a lovely weekend, very quiet but nice and relaxing...

The mad thing that I am scared of is necks, I cant sticks necks they go thought me, am I a little strage or what :confused3

Hope that you all had a lovely weekend, when do we get our Universal Report Jane, cant wait to hear how it went, and also your break at the seaside Linda

* Ascot* a famouos race course in England

Hi everyone we are back! :cool1: We had a fab time!
The weather was great Saturday and we went to the outside swimming pool, Elouise was on the trampoline alot of the time and on the 2p slot machines. The ones where they build up and then EVENTUALLY the machines so fall, after "hanging" off the ledge for ages, you may "win" back 8p or if you're lucky 12p! Still elouise loved this! :thumbsup2

Of course Sunday we swam again and then watched England WIN! the whole camp site were watching on big screen, the place went crazy when we scored!
Fingers crossed for us on saturday when we play Portugal. We are having a BBQ at our house with friends. so im decking the house and garden out in red and white. :cheer2:

grand national

Hi Glad you had a fab time Linda it sounds great, especially the big screen for the footie. It was a good result wasn't it, there was much alcohol consumed in our house both during and afterwards.

The campsite sounds great with a screen - which one did you go to ? :cheer2:

Heres Elouise ! from our weekend

http://s81.photobucket.com/albums/j...rent=DSCF0094.jpg&slideshow=paused&interval=3

Of course supporting England! and still trying to win blooming tickets off the machines in the arcarde, so she can swop them for prizes, she doesnt even really need or want !!! :rotfl:

Still we had a great weekend!

NO :sad1: drivin movies for us in the UK ! Wayne and I went to LA a few years ago we went to see the premiere of Charlies Angels ( we thought this was a real hoot, seeing CA in LA) we asked the locals for directions to a drive in, and they laughed, saying there wasnt one!??? what one of my dreams shattered!

Woodlands (the only racetrack I know for horses and dogs!)

It looks like Elouise got plenty of tickets! I'm glad you had a good time. Also glad that England is doing well!
Are you interested in tennis at all? Do you watch any play from Wimbledon?

I am suprised that there were no drive-in movies in LA.
Has anyone ever eaten at the sci-fi drive in at Disney MGM Studios? I though it was cute. (the food was ok.)

Brown Derby

:sad2: Monday :sad2:

Had a great time at US and IOA. Dueling Dragons is AWESOME :thumbsup2 and Beetlejuice made a pass at me  It was nice getting $160.00 worth of entry tickets for $37.00 :) But DH spent another $50.00 on $5.00 beers. :drinking1
I got us the Express pass on line so we got to walk right on the rides with no lines, but staying on sight and getting express pass free would have been a better deal. There were no rooms available when I tried. We stayed over at a friends house that lives in Orlando.
Alie did a great job staying home and careing for the animals (We have a cat, a dog, fish and chickens). It was her first time home alone overnight.
She had a little scare Saturday morning. She was stung by a bee, she is somewhat allergic to bee stings so naturally she is afraid of them.
As she mentioned I HATE SPIDERS.

Green Bowler (another hat!)

Hmmm, Jane, I thought you and the Grinch were an item. :rotfl:

Did you ride Spiderman? MIB?
Did Ron like it as much as Disney?

Bowling Ball

Cute picture of Elouise!
did you really go camping? in a tent?

Sounds like you had a blast this weekend Jane.

The drive-in was great fun, but I forgot to take my camera I was going to take some pictures to share. OH well, next time. We enjoyed the movies as well, Click was great! We didn't get home until 3 am though as it didn't get dark outside until after 9pm to start the shows.

Next weekend we're going to start registering for wedding gifts :woohoo: My bridal shower is set for August 5.

we may have discussed this before but how is everyone getting to port?

we might be doing a towncar now...orgininally we were going to take the shuttle. Will we miss out on lots of Disney bus fun not going on the shuttle? lol I like the towncars don't get me wrong but once belted in I feel a mile away from Jacob and he ends up staring out his window and me out mine....boring!

LANE

Kelly- I have not taken the shuttle to Port Canaveral before but I have taken it to Disney before. I think the town car would work better. You have more control of the time you will arrive for one thing. You wont be waiting around for the shuttle driver to decide its all packed up and ready to go. Also, when you arrive at the port you would not be with a big group. If you take the shuttle you will likely have to wait in line behind some of the people you arrived with. Of course this is just my opinion! Some people may have more fun on the shuttle. :confused3

I don't know what Jane has planned for our trip to the port. She will either drive us or get someone to take us there so that we don't have to pay to leave her car in the lot.

Jules we stayed at Rockley Park, a Haven site, it was a Sun Deal. and very very good too. For the others these are large parks with static caravans on, that you hire. The sites are managed by Haven so have their own "characters like Bradley bear and Greedy the gorilla... not quite disney, but still great fun. The caravan had 3 bedrooms, a big kitchen with large fridge freezer microwave and full size oven ( not that it was ever used!) there was a TV dining room, shower room and lounge. The site was very clean ( won a nature trail award) with an outdoor and indoor pool with slides. Elouise LOVED these, so bring on Blizzard Beach!

Jane we aree staying at RPR, to get FOTL access, so pleased you think it would be a good idea. We loved IOA and US. We will def do Fire and Ice, Hulk Spiderman etc. Ellie is so excited to be over the 40inches mark, so she can do Spiderman!................... thats my girl... i love rollercoasters of any type!

Sparkelly... as previously stated... no tents !... sorry would love to have said yes, but i like my luxury! ;)

Things im scared of... Im not too keen on spiders, but trying to be brave and get Elouise to look at them as tiny creatures to be friends with... em!
Still send in Wayne to get them out the bath! :rotfl2:
Im not so good on flying when with Elouise. I REALLY take note of how to get out and listen to the emergency drill. I NEVER did this prior to having her. Now I have to have an "exit" plan for her.... just in case!

We are driving to the park and leaving the hire car in the parking lot. Not that finacially sensible, but the easiest way and its only 4 nights. Havent planned anything for the day we get off, may be Celebration???? I expect to need a "rest" day!

number*

hahaha susan the grinch comment made me laugh...a lot.

my bee sting swelled up to about three times the normal toe size. and i couldnt feel my foot. but its got all better after about 15 min. the weird part was that i could feel the venim going up my leg. i didnt like that.

i saw click this weekend too it was very good. would have been better at a drive-in though. i also got home quite late 1 something.

snooze- when are you coming! i would like to know how many wonderful days i get to spend with you.

linda- it sounds like you and your family do a lot of fun stuff.

thirteen

 Hi Everyone

Jane it sounds like you had a great time, it makes me very excited !! Sue we are not really into Wimbledon, yesterday there was only 44 minute of play due to the rain, they apparently now have to pay 1 million pounds in compensation for ticket sales !! We ate at the Sci Fi Theatre once, like you say it was fun but didn't think much of the food !! :guilty:

We will be getting to the port on the shuttle bus, every other cruise we have had a town car or parked our rental car there, but this year we decided to take the bus, we will get there a little later, but we thought as we have four days rather than our normal three that would work out ok, we are also going back to the Saratoga after the cruise and the bus will take us back there, we pick up our rental car that day, so it makes sense for us ....

Linda it sounds like you had great fun, the Sun holidays are great value aren't they, do they have tent pitches there ? I am like you and like my luxury, but I can cope in a tent for a weekend, we have been twice this year so far, once to Tenby and once to Brean, we are going to Brean again for August Bank Holiday, any more that a weekend and I start to feel very dirty :smooth:

Well it sounds like everyone had a fun weekend, the drive in sounds like fun, I would love to go, but unfortunately none of those in Merthyr !! Ali I hope that you are all better now from your sting, it must have been very painful and the venom going up your leg sounds yucky !!

As I mentioned my big phobia is necks, which is very strange, I can't bear to see anything gory in movies or tv which involves necks, I am a ver trange person :rotfl2:

FRIDAY

We ate at the Sci-Fi Drive-In on our last trip. It was a fun experience and they played a couple of the same things that they show at our real drive-in, some of the "pre-show" cartoons. So that was funny.....the food was ok, I didn't think it was as bad as some of the people on these boards make it sound. We did feel rushed though, and squished in the back of the car hehe. We'll try something different this time though I think.

Julie that is strange about the necks, but it's ok, I'm a very strange person myself :rotfl:

Here's a group question

When was everyone's very first visit to Walt Disney World? What do you remember about it?

My first trip was in 2000 (I was 19 at the time) I had wanted to visit as long as I could remember but my evil (kidding) parents never took me hehehe. So I made it happen myself. I forced (kidding again) a couple of my friends to go with me and we stayed off-site at a not so great hotel - but hey we were in college we didn't care hahaha. We didn't have a lot of money to spend, we only ate counter service, we missed a ton of stuff since we were only there for 3 full days, but I had the time of my life, I finally got to ride the teacups and see Cinderella's Castle, and I wanted to go back before we even got home.

takeaway

We always get takeaway on a Friday !!

You are right Kelly it is strange with the necks :rotfl2:

My first visit was in 1992, I was 21 and I went with Ian, it was the year before we got married. We stayed on International Drive at the Quality Inn, we had a wonderful time, but when I look back at the photos, I cant believe how young we were, we look quite sweet :rotfl:

I remember taking my first ride on the ferry boat and being blown away by my first view of the castle. I had no clue about DisneyWorld then, I remember our first night there, all I wanted to do was see the castle, so we drove out there, we had no intention of visiting the park, I just thought I would be able to see everything from the parking lot, I didnt know about ferrys and monorails then, just thought I would be able to see the whole park from the lot - how naive was I - we drove there - payed to park - sat in the lot and then drove back to the hotel :rotfl2: :rotfl2: we often think back and laugh at how little we knew
