Oct. 15, 2006 (4 nights on the "New" Wonder)

US

When I was on the Magic they made us wear our life vests both to and from the drill. Apparently they are afraid that if everyone takes them off that people will be tripping each other with the straps and that someone will fall down stairs. The do look ugly and are not terrible comfortable but most people were happy to cooperate. I did see one lady who pretty much refused to wear hers even though they were telling her that she must put it on for the drill. My station was in Animators Palate so we didn't need to stand in the sun :sunny: .

Thanks for showing us the lifejacket photos Kelley! So cute!

I don't think I am a good dancer but it would be fun to boogie with my dis friends!

Thanks Kelly for putting the pictures on for us to see. Im cool with wearing them if thats what we have to do. Its not for long anyway.

wow how cool if we all do the wine tasting!!! :)

On the cruise I went on with my friend, we were put on a table with 2 guys in their 30s. not sure if when setting tables they were trying to fix us up??? any way these 2 guys were a groom and best man,as the bride had stood him up 48 hrs before the wedding!( as we found out later in the cruise). So our table had an very posh couple in their 60s, me and jane then these 2 guys. The elderly couple were lovely, like Mum and Dad to 4 kids. They had cruised before and gave us loads of tips etc. We had a blast, and our whole table went to the disco each night for a boogie! The elderly couple would come with us,( we took turns proudly carrying our table number ) :rotfl2: they were very generous and would insist on buying a drink for us all, they would have one dance, then sit and watch us. I said to the guys up front, I was married and this was a holiday for me and Jane. ( Think I might have been a bit too big headed, cos after we got to know the guys, they told us the story about the canceled wedding etc, and the groom was so heart broken, I SURE if a top super model jumped on him he would have turned her down!)
Anyway over the week our table became really really good friends,we shared taxis/excursions at ports, we all took crazy photos, and made great memories. This was 8 years ago. and up until about 2 years ago we all sent christmas cards etc. sadly times move on and things fall by the way side. The groom even re married!( not the original bride)

The elderly couple said we made their cruise for them, cos we were all so crazy and fun to be with. We loved including them, as they were so interesting and well traveled. Our table was great!

Im sure we will be the same. Actually the my table mates are one thing im REALLY looking forward to.

Hope we dont drive you crazy, taking Elouise to and from the clubs, and character meets etc. I will hav eto get her to practice waiting for her meal, as 90 minutes for a meal, is a long time for her to behave and sit still !

Linda - don't worry about it! None of us will mind when you need to care for your little Elouise. :cutie: Everything will be great and we will all have a fabulous time! :grouphug:
That is really nice that you have such good memories from your earlier cruise. Its nice for us that we have gotten to talk so much before we even see each other.

:rainbow:

Sue is so right Linda, we all understand that you will need to see to Ellie, it is a long time for someone her age to sit at a table, and I am sure that none of us would expect her to, we will all go with the flow and chill out :teeth:

I am also so pleased that we have all got together on here, it feels as if I have made some good friends already, I know that we are going to have a blast and really enjoy ourselves :woohoo: Ian and I are really excited about the crusie and meeting everybody :Pinkbounc

We are nearly at our 90 day point, are any of u planning to swap for Palo, we are not going to this year, we did it once and it was fab, but we are just going to go with the flow this year. Kelly I am sure that you are planning on swapping as it is very romantic  We may try and book bunch as we did this before and it was very good, but we want to do it as late as possible so we are hungry, when we went last time there was just so much food, and we went at about 10.00am, some of the food items we just couldn't face at that time in the morning

Linda I found the navgators and Ian and I had a good look at those last night along with the menus yum !! On our sea day theres is beer tasting with quiz, wine tasting and then a martine experience, better not do them all or I will be :rotfl2: at dinner :yay:

Linda, I think that your memories of having great table mates is a reflection of you. :goodvibes You sound like the type of person that makes her own great time. This is one of the reasons I am excited to share it with you. :cheer2: Getting to know all of you is so much fun. I think that it is good that we all seem to be of simular age (except that I am OLD :sad2: )and have simular interests. Of course that is why we are all sailing with the Mouse :mickeyjum

Jane

I am very sure that you are not old, and we are all as old as we feel, which in all of our cases seems very young !!

You guys are the best, thanks I knew you would be cool with Elouise, just I would hate to ruin any of your meals, etc.

IF she was a pain, me or Wayne will not tollorate much, without taking her away from the table. However at the moment she is VERY excited to be the only child on the table, so shes "into" acting "grown up "....... well now as for her Mum and Dad, well !!!! :rotfl2: I act my shoe size on holiday and thats a 6!! :Pinkbounc
Jane, who cares about ages anyway, we will ALL be kids on the cruise, and that why our table will have soooooo much fun.

We arent planning a Palos trip this time, perhaps we might for the 7 nighter. However as its all new for us, we are staying on our dinning rotation each night!

DREAMS!

We're not sure if we're goint to try Palo. We don't want to miss any of the dining rooms and since we won't know the rotation til we get there....... I guess we'll see if we can still get in then. Is that doubtful? Another option would be the brunch I guess.

We need to start looking and deciding on the excursions and spa treatments and such we want to do. Soon we can book isn't that right?

We're getting soooooooooooo excited. We watched the travel channel Disney cruise special on Saturday finally and even Jake looked as excited as a kid on Christmas.

SLEEP

I bet Palo is really good but I like going to the assigned restaraunts and don't want to miss one.

Dis friend poll - What spa treatments would you like to try?

princess: princess: princess: princess: princess:

sheep
I agree on not missing the regular dining rotation. Brunch would be cool but if they are only on sea days they are probably hard to book.
I still didn't get to see the travel channel special :sad2: too much homework. I saw that there is one tonight on RCI Rhapsody, I think.
Hmmmm, I would like to try the rainforest room. Just to enjoy the atmospher with out the high $$$$$ :goodvibes

Wool

Im not sure what spa treatment I would want to try? ALL OF THEM!!?? :rotfl2:

Im looking at the menus, The only menu i cant find that much I like is on AP, so hope we dont do that one twice. I cant eat fish, alleric (sp?) reaction! Im sure I wont starve though!

Any guess on what roatation we might get??

Im intesrested in how "dressed" up everyone will be on formal/dress up night? Wayne really doesnt do this, well not on holiday. Wedding etc yes, but not at disney. we will be smart, but casual ish.... Ellie will wear a dress, cos she has 100s to choose from!. im trying to diet, so will wear what fits! :confused3

Sweater

We're thinking of doing the exotic rasul at the spa.

I plan to dress up more than I normally would in every day life for all dinners because It's our honeymoon and I enjoy it. Dressing up every night was one of my favorite parts of our last cruise. Now my "dressing up" may be different than everyone elses but I have a simple black dress I may wear on the dress up night and Jacob just plans on wearing khaki or black pants and a nice shirt.

COTTON

i dont knkow if i would do the spas im not really into that well maybe i am i've never done one before.

i want to dress up nice but of course i was to go shopping for new clothes and moms is saying to just wear old dresses.

Mittens (Ians contribution he is trying to get to know you all)

Kelly I am sure you will get Palo if you decide you want to once onboard, play on the fact that it is your honeymoon I'm sure they will find room for you and Jake, we can book I think at 75 days for our spa etc ... if you have cruised before I think 90 days ...

Sue - I dont know what spa we will do the first cruise I got like a wrap thing which was very nice but the massage was a bit rough :guilty: and afterwards theytalk you into buying the elemis products I bought two whoch I have used probably five times and that was three years ago... We did the rainforest for three days and that was lovely, warm chairs that you could lie on and different showers and spas. We also did the Rasual I will let you all look that up on the DIS  Kelly and Jake you may enjoy as it is your honeymoon :bitelip:

The only reason we got to do brunch at Palo is that there had been a hurricane so our Castaway day we spent at sea so they put on brunch at Palo and we were lucky enough to get in, would much rather have been at Castaway though ....

Linda - Animators is very nice, of all of the restaurants I am not so keen on Tritons but Ian loves it - different tastes for everybody ....

Is there a formal night ???? we have always dressed smartly but casual too, Ian only does ties for weddings etc, and every other year has worn trousers and a casual shirt, please reassure me that there is no formal night :confused3< i have nice shoes, I am a shoes and bag sort of girl, but I dont do dressy dressy :rotfl: as soon as dinner is over I go back to our room and change into my comfies - cropped trousers and t-shirt before going to the bars, a girl has to have comfort to make room for the wine

we just realised you cant get cotton mittens, please excuse Ian he is new to this, the last he saw was wool :confused3
