Oct 13'03 - Are all the stores/malls open?

Hi Everyone! We will be at WDW through Oct 13th and I wondered if all the stores and malls would be open or do they close for an "official" holiday? Being that I live in Ontario, Canada I only know that it is our Thanksgiving and nothing is open here. Can anyone help?

I don't live down there, but I suspect that everything will be open. Columbus Day is a big "sales" day - most folks (not me) are off work and stores are eager to get an additional weekend-like sales day.

Everything will be open. This is a holiday that some schools, financial institutions and most government offices close for but everyone else has to work.

Thanks for the replies. It will be nice to know that I can still do some "damage" at the malls that day!
