Oct 13, 2012 Fantasy who's going

Great! I will let everyone know the details once they figure them out.

Hmmm, while the guys are playing poker the girls will have to find something to do.

I think that sounds like a great idea Girls rule.... Boys drool ! Unless they win and share the winnings. : ):rotfl2: :rotfl::dance3::rolleyes1

That does sound like a good plan to me! Don't they have a cool waterfall area in the Quiet Cove? DOTD and sunshine!!!!!

If any of you are interested in sending your FE gifts to the ship so you don't have to use valuable luggage space.....

Here is the address..... DCL Cruise Line Distribution.. 8633 Transport Drive.. Orlando, Florida.. 32832 .. *Be sure to add the following information*. Name as it appears on the Reservation..... Cruise Ship name...... Stateroom number..... And.... Your Embarkation date..

We take ours to FedEx but UPS also works.. We have done this for every cruise and it just "Magically" appears in your stateroom.

DOTD. Is always a good idea.

You know what's funny? I say that, and I totally swore on my last cruise that I was going to get a Conk Cooler on CC when it was just me and Jillian, and then I never end up doing it! Maybe an "official" ladies meeting will let me make the time! :cutie:

So, we're 7 months out, and I have started planning what I'm going to get for the FE, we've somewhat got what we want to do in each location mapped out except Costa Maya, we stopped there instead of Grand Cayman due to winds on our last October cruise, and Jillian and I did a dune buggy excursion with was great, but I couldn't drive because the seat wouldn't scoot up far enough for me to reach the clutch! :lmao:.

I've also been checking out the video diaries and pictures of the Fantasy, she looks like a gorgeous ship! What about everyone else? Getting excited? :woohoo:

Excited? It is all I think about! :yay:

I have made many magnets, one fish extender that is 1/2 inch too wide. I am excited to make another! I have no idea what my FE gifts will be, and might wait until we know numbers of participants.

I am very excited!!

Well, this will be my 3rd Western cruise, so if you have any questions, just shout! Of course this will actually be the first cruise that we haven't hit Key West, which is kind of a bummer, but, we're still going to have a great time!

So please tell us, what are some of the good Excursions that you think are good for this cruise. Have been looking, but no decisions yet.

Most of the time, we end up doing stuff on our own. We did do the dune buggy excursion in Costa Maya last time, which was great, but someone needs to be able to drive a stick, and have long legs!

For Cozumel, Chakanaab is nice, the ruins tours are cool, but are also really dependent on whether or not you have a good guide, and there's a lot of walking and standing. We're going to try and book a scuba dive again. Last time we booked one, but then went to Cozumel on a different day due to winds, so we'll see how it works out this time. Ryan will end up on the ship that day in the morning while we're diving, he can't get certified until 10, Jillian is certified so she's going with us.

For Grand Cayman, Captain Marvin's to Stingray City! We don't go through the ship for this one either, Capt. Marvin's doesn't charge you if your cruise ship can't dock so there's no risk really. We haven't booked them yet, but are going to.

Costa Maya is pretty much a port created for cruise ships from what I've seen. I'm not sure what we're doing here yet, I think we're going to hold out for awhile.

Castaway Cay, BEACH DAY of course! :cutie:

Castaway Cay is the reason that OienFam5 and us changed to this cruise. We originally were on the Magic .... Same week ... Out of Texas.

Thanks for the info on excursions. I sure want to see the ruins.

Make sure you wear good walking shoes, the ground is pretty rocky in most of the ruins, and it's easy to turn an ankle. I'm just hoping with fingers crossed that we can dive! My last dive was in North Carolina, just after Hurricaine Irene went through, so the water was pretty murky, Cozumel should be gorgeous and clear! We can't do the Disey excursion because they require that divers be unconditionally certified, so 12 years old. Jillian is only 11, but she's certified conditionally (can't go deeper than 45', must dive with a parent, no obstructed dives so no wrecks or caves that you would go into) and has actually done more dives that I have!

Castaway Cay is wonderful, it's Disney on a beach, the snorkel lagoon is cool because they've got sunken treasures along the path to go see, a Mickey statue, the submarine from 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, treasure chests, lots of cool things. Low tide should be in the afternoon, so it's really easy to see everything without having to dive down too deep then.

That is my absolute favorite Disney drink! I had my first one on Castaway Cay and then we made them for a Disney Cruise Line Houseparty that we had in 2009. They were a big hit! :yay:

When we get a little closer to the cruise I will definitely have questions for you about some excursions. I want to see some ruins and maybe swim with some dolphins! Can you leave your kids in the Oceaneers club/lab and get off of the ship? I think that the ruins might be too much for my almost 7yr old.

March is so crazy for me I can't even start the FE gifts until April. :guilty:

Hi all...I'm looking for some advice also, since this is our first Western Caribbean cruise. We deffinitely want to see some ruins but I'm wondering which one? I'm thinking Chacchoben in Costa Maya. I don't want to spend the whole day on one excursion and this one sounds good but is it???:confused3 We are not beachy people. None of us swim and I'm allergic to the sun. Red head with pale skin here. I burst into dust if I'm out in the sun too long.:lmao:We'd like to do one of the sub tours and was wondering if anyone has done the Cozumel highlights and Mayan Ruins. Like I said this all soooo new and any advice would be welcomed. TIA:goodvibes

It is totally worthwhile. The guide we had was very knowledgeable. I would do it again in a heartbeat :thumbsup2

So this is Chacchoben? Look's wonderful.:yay:Thanks so much for the pictures. I also want to thank you for staying with this thread and for such an awesome title. I did some research before I booked our cruise and this was the one that I was sold on. I'm just sorry that we won't get to meet.:sad2: Thanks for the info and thanks for keeping us up to date:goodvibes

You are ever so welcome. As much as I prefer the Western cruise - it is always good to be with family. My daughter and a friend from a previous cruise talked me into a Eastern cruise. It goes to Puerto Rico and I've never been there. I'm glad you didn't mind me staying with this forum. Also, I love the icons that were designed. Meeting thru words runs a close second to meeting in person :goodvibes

You can certainly leave your kids in the club/lab when you get off the ship, just make sure they know, and then they won't try and page you, they'll just work on distracting the munchkin. We did this on our very first cruise when the kids were 3 and 5. We went to Stingray City and the kids were fine. Of course mine have done daycare since they were little, so I don't think they mind having time away from Mom and Dad at all.

I wouldn't be too sure that your almost 7 year old won't like the ruins. Ryan was 7 when we did the Med cruise, and he loved every minute of it. Well, OK, not every single minute, but he did have a good time, and I'm always amazed at the things that he remembers!

I too have been looking at excersions. We have two 10 year olds and a 5 year. They will actually be studying the ruins in social studies about the same time we are there, so that would be cool, but I think it might be too much for them. I know they would love something with dolphins, but I don't know which ones are good and which ones aren't. I have also thought about some snorkeling, but not sure if the 5 year old can do it yet. He is a good swimmer. Any suggestions would be apprectiated.
