Oct 13, 2012 Fantasy who's going

I too have been looking at excersions. We have two 10 year olds and a 5 year. They will actually be studying the ruins in social studies about the same time we are there, so that would be cool, but I think it might be too much for them. I know they would love something with dolphins, but I don't know which ones are good and which ones aren't. I have also thought about some snorkeling, but not sure if the 5 year old can do it yet. He is a good swimmer. Any suggestions would be apprectiated.

My honest opinion on Dolphin swims? Save your excursion money and go to Discovery Cove when they're a bit older. We've done the one in Chakanaab and it was OK, but in a very small pen, and they were definitely on "Mexico time", we ended up being about 2 hours late for our appointment, not booked through Disney, so we were worried we'd have to skip it to make it back to the ship in time. Discovery Cove is awesome, we learned so much about the dolphins, and their snorkeling lagoon was really cool, I'd go on a nice warm summer day, the water's a bit cool, but it was amazing.

Cool video.:thumbsup2 I was stumped for a second on the first tune...but how appropriate...Start spreading the news...I'm leaving today. Love it and can't wait for October.:yay:

You know - I was too. Glad you knew that tune. I also remember when the Dream first came out there were only 5 tunes. I believe there are more tunes playing on this video. :thumbsup2

I see that some of you are looking at excursions. Where are you finding them? The last time Ric and I looked, we couldn't find them on the website. Thanks!

Pat

Hi there, Go to Disney Cruise Line, "Cruises and Destinations" and then "Port Adventures". There's a drop down list that will tell you everything you need to know. Happy planning.:goodvibes

Loved the video of the Fantasy leaving New York ... Am going to hook my sister up on the disboards this week... this will be her 1st Disney Cruise. We are excited to have her along with us. I am just plain EXCITED !:yay::yay::cheer2:

The worst part is we still have 7 months! But, I've found that the anticipation doesn't ruin the cruise for me, at least so far... :rotfl:

We just booked, and SOOO excited. Me, my DH (49), DD (14), DS (12) and DD (9). One more DS, but he is in college and breaks don't jive- so he will sadly miss it.

We are from Lone Tree, CO. Looks like a bunch of neighbors already on this board :)

I have no idea what a FE is . . . will try and figure that one out.

First Disney Cruise for us- although we have done many other cruises- LOVE to cruise, and LOVE Disneyland- so sounds like a great trip!

Welcome aboard! We should have called this cruise the Douglas County School District Fall Break Cruise! :lmao:

We're on our 6th cruise, and our 4th Western so let me know if you have any questions.

LOL! :)

Thanks- I am sure I will have a few questions- so will totally appreciate your advice. We are gearing up for a large 52 person birthday cruise (a surprise) for my husband in June. After that, I am SOOOO happy we will have this one to look forward to.

Boy have we all been quiet!!!! So I know that the Douglas County Colorado folks on board are on Spring Break this week, how about everyone else? Any awesomely fun plans? Scott and the kiddos are heading down to Florida (Scott does consulting so gets to schedule his own time) to do some visiting with family and a couple of days at the Disney water parks. When we were out there last October we did the water parks and found that it was only $.50 or so more to get an annual pass than a 2 day ticket, so we got the annual passes, which means they get to use them again! :woohoo:

I get to stay home and work, which isn't bad as it's just me at home, so sort of a mini-mommy vacation .

Is anyone else following DCL on Facebook? They've had a ton of posts about the Fantasy, they even have a "video diary" link that was done by Brent and the other cruise director (can't remember his name) as they were bringing the Fantasy back from Germany. It was very cool! Here's the link, there are several entries all about different features on the ship: http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/ships-activities/ships/fantasy/ and click on the Video Journal link in the main flash section.

I haven't been on Facebook to watch her but I have been watching her pop in and out of Port Canaveral. I feel as if I'm even more looking forward to Cruising on the Fantasy than I was on the Dream. Weird eh :rotfl:

Is there any information on the Amount of People doing the FE so far on our Cruise.
I'm a bit down as have been Monitering a Post on First Time Cruisers moaning about DCL Benefits. :headache:

Thusfar there are 28 definite FE and 3 unsure. If you go to the 1st post it shows in red the families that are participating :surfweb:

I saw that post too, just kept thinking to myself "Umm, hello? We all get to go on a Disney Cruise! Just enjoy it!" :woohoo:

Just to give everyone a great case of conversational whiplash, I thought I'd ask on the thread if there's anyone who is interested in linking reservations for dining? We're on late dining right now, but I'll be calling to get us moved to early this week, and we've loved having another family to sit with during meals!

You are welcome to link up with ours. We are eight already but it would be nice to get to know some new people. I think that if you are a large group they sit you at the large center table in the Cinderella restaurant! :yay: But we are second seating so if you are going to change to first then it won't work. Let me know what you decide to do.

Hi, eveyone!

I was fortunate enough to sail on the FANTASY on a preview cruise last week and let me tell you---we are in for a treat!! The ship was amazing, the crew was top notch, the food was wonderful, shows outstanding and on and on! It was a fantastic experience and I can't wait to get back on in October! I'm happy to try and answer any questions if you have them! I also took a bunch of pictures...including many of the Roy Disney suite! Wow!!! Someday....!!:goodvibes

Hi
I saw in the attached article that Cpt Tom is the capt. of the Fantasy. Did you see him? He was the Cpt on the Magic in 2004 - very nice.

PS: Do you have a room number yet, so I can put it on the 1st page?
