My two children will be in the Lab for our Oct Cruise, and they are being given disposable cameras to take by their grandparents.

Are the kids allowed to take cameras/photos in the Lab ?

And also, is there somewhere for the kids to leave things safely
when they are not using them in the lab - such as the cameras & hats, after they have been up on deck ?

Thanks for your replies.

Not absolutely sure but I'll ask DD if she calls from St Thomas this week. I'm reasonably sure that the Lab has some type of storage because if not there would be stuff laying around everywhere. Kids are kids and they bring hats and jackets and other stuff with them.

Maybe some of the veteran cruisers can help on this one.

I'd like to know about the disposable cameras too. My DD7 has just started scrapbooking our family vacations in little 7x7 albums and will definitely want to take pictures on our cruise next summer!!

I bought my grandkids (10, 9 & 8) fanny packs to wear at Disney and on the cruise at Wal*Mart for $3.96.

I am going to have to shorten the waist straps but the packs are big to hold their autograph books, pens and a small camera.

Wal*Mart has cheap ($19.97) digital cameras that will hold 52 photos. They are low resolution, but should be okay for 4x6 prints and if the kids take lousey photos I won't have paid for developing/printing.

My dds took their disposable cameras with them every day. As soon as they get there the couselors put their name and stateroom number on everything. I don't think there were any stoage spaces like cubbies bt the cameras always came back.

There are no storage spaces in the Lab as kid's aren't supposed to bring their own stuff to play with. They don't need hats or whatever as they are never outside (or essentially never...occasional sports things)..The CMs will label the cameras for you, but I'd only take them when they want to take a few pics in the lab. Otherwise, the less they have to keep track of, the better.

Checked with DD today. Yes, kids can bring cameras into the Club and Lab and they will be labeled but it's at YOUR RISK. DCL isn't responsible if they get lost. The kids can either hang on to them or leave them at the desk. I wouldn't send anything expensive but a $7.00 disposable wouldn't break the budget if it got lost.

I think the fanny pack idea is great for the older kids. That's the only "purse" I take with me when I'm cruising cause I hate carrying things...and I'm a grown up.
