Hi all,

We've never used these clubs because our kids were too young or not interested. This cruise our DDs will be 5 and 8 (they each just turned these ages).

I really tried to find any info on these clubs but have had not luck with my searches.

Could someone point me to maybe a thread on this or help me out?

I was wondering how I go about signing them up? Do I go to the clubs or to guest services? When should I go? Can my kids possibly be together; maybe the older one could go to the younger one's group? My 5 year old is very shy.

Is it an all day thing? Can they come and go? Do they give out beepers to reach us if one of them wants to leave?

Thanks for any info or insight into these clubs.

ALL children are automatically allocated a place, you just go to the clubs on embarkation day or evening and fill out a small questionnaire, health password to sign in out etc.

There are a number of age groups for the kids, see the DCL web site for details and the programmes they run.

My kids were 6 and 4 when they went in and the only problem was trying to get them out again they loved it so much, against any other kids club in hotels these rate the best.

You are issued pagers/bleepers and anywhere on the ship you can be contacted, kids can only sign themselves in and out with your permission from 8 upwards.

I think times are 9am to 12 midnight, but you can decide what to do, a programme tells you the times everything is on, and there are 'transition times' when you can take kids out or put them in.

Try ********************** you can look at the navigators and see the daily itineries for all the kids clubs - a great site!:teeth:
edited: sorry it seems i cant mention castawayclub!!
that start with 3 w's & ends with a com!!!

Talk to the counselors in the Club/Lab about having both kids together. Since your 8yo just turned 8, she probably would be fine to move down to the Club instead of participating in the Lab especially if the girls will have more fun together.

The age groupings for the Club are 3-4 and 5-7, for the Lab it's 8-9 and 10-12. Understand that they can't flip flop between groups. Once you make the change it's for the duration of the cruise.

You can check out the Navigators at www.dcltribute.com/navigators Click on the length of your cruise and then choose kids and teens navigators. The Navigators on the 4 day and 7 day are pretty recent and give you a better idea than the ones for the 3 day which are a couple of years old.

Feel free to PM me with any specific questions and I'll get an answer from DD.

Thank you, everyone, so much for all the great valuable information!!!

I just went and checked out both websites and saw the navigators!!

Since it's such short cruise and we enjoy eating together and see the shows, they probably won't be in the club much. I might have them do the show and maybe the experiment where they make something like Flubber!

I hope they can go together.

I'm also hoping to fit in a screening of "The Incredibles"!

I have a feeling the cruise will FLY by!!

Have have a couple more questions; Do they have dress up time? Do they ever interact with any characters?

Thanks again so much for all the helpful information!!:wave2:

My kids are 5 and 9 and were just on the 4 day (Jeanne shortened) 9/27 Magic cruise. A character visits the younger kids (3-4, 5-7) seems like a couple of times a day. For example, they all were made into pirates and then at the end, Captain Hook showed up.

My 9 year old always ate with us (expect on the night we did Palo's) but my 5 year old really enjoyed eating with his club.

Not sure what you mean by "dress up" time - there's a lot of pretending, a PJ party (I think Goofy comes to that for the younger kids), etc.

Personally, I'd encourage you to get your kids excited about the clubs. It gives you a chance to participate in the many other activities onboard and for my family is the major reason we sail Disney.

What I meant by dress up is if they had costumes and such for doing dress up...I was just curious.

We like spend most of our time together on vacation but I think they could definitely do some of the afternoon activities but I think I'd want them to eat with us...I'll play it by ear.

Will absolutely be doing the shows after dinner together.

Thanks again!
