Just reading another post about the club and how late it is open. If kids fall asleep, do they have a quiet area? Or do we get paged to come get them.

Thanks

In the club around 9 or so, I think, they put mats out and turn on movies so if the kids want to lay down and watch they can. DS did that one night and he was almost asleep when we picked him up. DD on the other hand never slept in the Lab. She was always on the go!:)

If you are planning on checking your children in later and having a late night, do you put them in their PJ's?
(ages 5 & 3)

As always Thank you!

The last night we were there, we did have the kids go in PJs. I think that they do want the kids to have shoes on while they were there, but I can't remember for sure.

We also dressed ours in pjs a few nights and sent them in sandals. They take their shoes off typically on the mats and put them right next to them and either pass out (lol) or stay awake and watch the movies.

I am pretty sure that there were other activities besides the movies going on.

Thanks Cristi.
That was the one thing that DD didn't like about Camp Carnival, after 10 (during the pay-for-babysitting-time) it was either watch the movie they were showing or page Mom & Dad. Needless to say, we got paged alot.

Can the kids still play when the movies start, or are they "required" to sit and watch?

I think the "quiet" area behind the pirate ship/slide (which IS closed) is open for reading books, playing games, etc. There are computers back there too; not sure if they allow them to play on there.

One night they are in the lab and there were a lot of other things going on (new place for them at night) besides just the movie.

And I think the movies don't even start until 9 or even 10 so there are always activities up until then. The PJ party is a HUGE hit with the kids

Our DS (3) did not lay down on the mats. We arrived as they were paging us. We got a bit of a lecture on him not laying down. The lecture was enough that it was the last time we sent him. FYI - he wasn't disturbing others (we asked).

I don't think they are *required* to lay down, but if they don't, then the other kids behind them can't see. If your child didn't want to lay down, I would think they should get out of the other kids' way, and sit, stand, or whatever in the back or off to the side. If they want a good seat for the movie, they should be lying down so as not to disturb the other kids trying to watch. Our DS(3 yrs.) was not a big one for lying down either, but he did like to hang out on the side near some sort of foam thing (don't ask me what it was!), and there was no problem with that.

We were on the Sept 19th Wonder & sent DD to the club @ about 9pm our first night (just after she finished eating~we had 2nd seating). I think that 1st night they started the movies later, but just as I had sat down @ with a very tasty pina colada for Dueling Pianos I got the page. Needless to say, I did finish my pina colada first (got brain freeze! ), but I was paged because she had gotten upset @ the fact that she was no longer allowed to play but was instead expected to sit/lay & watch the movie. She never WANTED to go back after that. The next day we managed to convince her to go in the am, but were paged after about 15 minutes. While I was there picking her up I saw another little boy in her group start crying. The CM just kept telling him that if he didn't stop crying then she would call his dad. Well, that just set him off more! Not once did I see/hear her ask him what was wrong or try to get him to quiet down. After witnessing that, I wasn't sure I wanted DD there. Please no flames my way. This was just our experience. Yes, we were disappointed in the kid's club, but have read others who LOVE it! Again, just my opinion. DD is very active & loves to play with other kids, but for some reason she just didn't like the club. A couple of other dis'ers who joined the cruise meets thread for our date seemed to have similar feelings/experiences while there.
