I am requesting an exchange for the Harborside Resort in Nassau but found this other resort the Ocean Reef Resort and Yacht Club in Freeport. Has anyone been to it? Do you think I would be happy with this as a second choice to Harborside Resort? We have been to Nassau and really liked the island. Thanks for your help.

I haven't seen it but from what I've heard I'd bet you wouldn't be satisfied. It's a standard resort with II (their lowest level of 3) and is only modestly rated 7/10 on TUG. Try to find a Westin owner and do a direct exchange is your best bet.

Ocean Reef Resort and Yacht Club as you stated is in Freeport, not even the same island as Harborside.

What time of year and what size unit are looking to exchange for at Harborside?

We are open to anything in 2010 from April - June and the months of October - December. We were looking for a 1 bedroom. This is our first exchange and were really looking for something tropical. I love the islands. Thanks for your response.

April is the busiest month out of those listed, Easter and Spring Break.

October thru December is a ghost town. To be honest, those times of year, you can rent a place real cheap. Much cheaper then the points required.

If you want Atlantis, your best chance is for a September exchange.

I would concur with Sept being the most likely though the more options you give yourself the better. If you list all these times for a 1 BR and are prepared to wait up until 4-6 months out to match, I'd be surprised if you didn't get something. You might want to consider Cancun and Aruba as other areas that might work well for your stated goal and without the $25 hamburger meals per person. Still, a direct exchange might still be the best options. For an II exchange you can't control whether you get the small side of the lockoff or the large side where you can with a direct exchange.

I am not sure if I want to book in September due to the hurricane season. Has anyone else been there during this month? Just not sure how safe it is to be on the island during a hurricane and then concerned how to get off if evacuation is needed. Thanks for your response,

That's one of several reasons this is the most available time.
