Ocean at Vero Temperature

When is the earliest you have been to Vero and swam in the ocean and been comfortable with the water temperature. We've always gone in August. Is the water comfortable in April or May?

I have friends who have stayed at vero and seen sharks! I would not swim in the ocean!

April Atlantic temperatures are still generally in the low to mid 70's which many people find warm enough to swim. May will be a little warmer. I personally need the water temp to be in the 80's.

There are a lot of things in the ocean no doubt, but I can't say I've ever seen a shark there in 10 years. They are there surely, but truly you are at greater risk in the drive in your car there from wherever.

We typically swim on our visits in February. Water temp has been as low as 67 and one year it was 78..... I just checked and the water temp is now 72. Heck 72 is wammer than it ever gets in MA!
