Okay...all you people who are posting about how crowded everything is are making my toes curl! Is it really that bad? We are going in September, 17-24, and I am so scared that it will be miserable. Not to mention that last year the parks were deserted, and my husband laughed at my commando touring plan. So I'm telling him that we really need to get up early this year, and make an itinerary, and he's blowing me off...

Any predictions for the end of September?

LOL I have had my December itinerary pretty much set in stone for 2 months. When my mother outlaw tried to horn in on our trip, I went into complete meltdown. Not that I don't like my mother outlaw, but she is high maintence due to her health. We managed to wiggle out of it.

Ahem, we were at WDW in late September of last year. Plan on rain. Plan on heat. Plan on wicked humidity. Plan on taking 2 or 3 pairs of good walking shoes. Plan on bringing ponchos. Plan on drinking water even when you don't feel thirsty. Plan on taking time to smell the roses. WDW is way more than just rides and shows.

One last thing, plan on having a wonderful time. Mickey

we just went this past spring break. it was packed, but no sweat.

use some practical planning like rose and crown PS for illuminations and fast passing the big rides early and youll be fine.

End of Sept is still hot but not crowded. You could still use an itinerary but it doesnt have to be a commando one, lol. We have been twice in Sept and never had much of a wait for anything. probably 30 min at the most. We are going this year in Oct and Im worried about the crowds.
we are a big family with kids of all ages, lol, so its hard to really stick with a plan. We just know what everyones fav thing to do is, we do those and then just hit whatever else we feel like hitting.

I understand that the FTP is up and running- but I am curious why October would be so much more crowded than September.

We are going 9/29- 10/4 followed by the DC Wonder. Is it that Mickey's Halloween event occurs in October? Or is the climate a bit more comfortable?

Thanks- Scott

I think more kids have holidays in October. That's why we're going then. They have a week off :) I know not all systems have a fall break and the ones that do are off different weeks, but most schools have a least a day or two around Columbus Day, if not the whole week.

In September, I think parents may be more hesitant to take kids out of school as it's just gotten started. JMHO :) (please, no debate here on whether taking kids out of school is right or wrong :))

Are there any travel agents out there who have better knowledge? I don't know of many people who vacation in September, whether to Disney or anyplace else. I'm assuming school is part of the reason.

Laurie :)

Hi! I'm going September 18-24th so we'll be there at the same time. Although I've never been in September, I've got a plan, itinerary and have made PS's. I figure if it's really slow, I'll throw the plan out the window and if it is a bit busy then I'm ahead of the game! Don't worry, just relax and keep saying "I'm going to ?Disney!!!".:D
