If you have had an obstructed view room please tell me what your view was of and the room number. I have booked one for mid January and am hoping that if I don't get an upgrade with my Loews First, I will be able to request a specific obstructed view room (since it's a slow time and the hotel won't be full).;)

I called about the obstructed view and the only thing they told me is that its a room that either has a view of over grown palm trees or view of parking lot or the roof top and the HRH is the oly one that offers these rooms.

Yeah, that's what they told me as well. I'd like to get the "nicest" obstructed view that I can. I know I did see a picture of the view from one of them and it was of a roof below or something and it really wasn't nice at all, I'd much prefer a view of the parking lot! So if I can get the room numbers, then at least I'll be able to request one of the better ones. :thumbsup2

Can I ask what rate you were able to get for the obstructed view room?

We are staying Jan 31-Feb 3, and a lower rate is more important to me than a good view. We don't spend much time looking out the window anyway.

Thanks.

yes you can call and ask for the obstructed view and they are a little lower and are for only hrh and for the dates your going they may be low and if too high for you try rpr cause thier rates are a lot lower than the hrh.

I called HRH and the rate I was quoted was $254 for a standard room/obstructed view. (We have 3 adults in the room, so I think that makes the rate $25 more than if there were just 2 adults.) But that rate is still more than the Super Saver rate I already have, so I'll just stick with that.

I don't blame you cause if you have lower rates no sense in changing for higher rates.

We're going Jan 16 - 21 got the CAA rate for an obstructed view room of $183. I can get the Supersaver at RPR for $171 and now I'm debating on whether to stick with the HRH or not because my teenage daughter (whom I thought would prefer HRH) thinks she would like Royal Pacific better!

it depends on which season rate you stay at hrh to determine the obstructed view rate.

i have seen that rate as low as $159 in the month of september.

call hrh directly.
ask the employee at the front desk which floors/rooms are listed as having a discount for an obstructed view.

i used to have a list of them but the last few years the number has increased.
palm trees do grow...........

what was not obstructed back in 01 or 02 may be so now.

or, you can wait until you check in and find out which locations have the obstructed view. if it is a matter of getting the cheapest price available, i can't see why the view you do receive is important.

i always prefer location to the elevators to be a priority for us.

Taking into account that the rate is cheaper for an obstructed view, I would still like to have the best view that can be had when I look out the window upon waking in the morning. I'd much rather see the fronds of a palm tree than a wall or only the top of the roof of the floor below where I can see nothing but puddles and wires (which is what I saw from a pic that someone posted of their view).:confused3
