Obsessive Compulsive Planning Behavior..

I haven't even cruised yet! We are booked on the Mexican Riviera cruise on 6/11/05 and I am this close to booking another for Dec of 2006! Reading all the info on the DisBoards and everyother website I can find has me so excited and I don't even know what I am in for yet!

My mom-in-law booked the west coast cruise and if she hadn't paid a portion, we wouldn't be going. Whew, is that one is pricy compared to what I am finding for the regular sailings from Florida. I am excited to take almost the same cruise (different senery) for thousands less by booking far out, and checking around better than she did.

So, planning is not only fun, addicting, but cost effective as well! Enjoy!

Ummmm is there a "shrink" somewhere on any of these boards?We can keep him/her in business forever !!! hahaha

we do little trips all the time to WDW when the airfare is good but to CRUISE is a whole other world...

oh and I wish I could cut down to a daily check instead of hourly as well. i think i am even at ever half an hour (hangs head in shame)

Well, we had to cancel our trip for Dec, (thanks, ATA) due to being bumped indefinatly, so this gives me an extra 6 months to plan for our rescheduled trip.

Okay... we were thinking about starting a 12 step program for those of us who are obsessed... but I agree, who wants the cure? We get so excited we confuse our travel agent about which booking we are talking about.
As for my non Disney crazy family members, they just roll their eyes and say shopping for me has gotten a whole lot easier!!!!
Second coming soon, planning on booking for 2006!!!! Lovin it!

OCD? What do you mean?? I thought that planning over a year in advance was the norm. Now you mean to say that packing my bags for my October '05 cruise after just returning from our September '04 cruise is not normal!! What am I going to do???? I thought that this was just normal practice. After all, I learned of this tip from the DIS boards!!!

Sad this is I am one. I too suffer from the same OCD. I would love to learn to check once a day or so, but I do it several times a day. No such thing as doctor heal thy self


I figure this is therapeutic in and of its self. We get to dream and, even if for a moment, that we are on the ship, Oh how wonderful that is! Gosh this board is better than calgon.

Joe, I am soooo sorry your trip was bumped..but think of all the planning you can still do...haha..well heck if you get bumped again, get bumped to the Magic for the 7 night western cruise leaving 1-28-06 and we can plan together


Newark airport has over 6 hour delays right now due to ice/snow/sleet

hubby decided that he NEEDS me to go to WDW on Feb 24th to get a Stitch Pin that will be released. ..uuuuuggggggghhhhh.....remind again why i love this guy....

hmmmmm although Hey do ya think i could sneak on the wonder for a 3 night cruise while down there??..LoL..but then that would leave me no time to plan so i guess that must be out of the question...

I too am a long range planner, that's half of the fun!! . I have booked for Feb. 2006 and haven't even told my DH or DD yet.. She is 9 and would drive me crazy until then.I have been checking the boards each morning and evening for the latest news. I have to be careful as she has seen me on the boards and asked,"are we going on the Magic again!" I tell her, no, I'm checking info for someone I work with. This throws her off every time. Then she looks all depressed. I hope I can wait until the time gets closer to let the news out. I'm trying to keep it a surprise until Xmas 05, just have to be sure DH can have the time off from work, so I don't lose my $.

FairyGodMother's confession made me burst out loud laughing! You go, Doc!

My biggest gripe is that you can only book as far out as the last cruise of '06 into '07. I'd book through the end of the decade if I could. Hey, I knew my niece's bat mitzvah date 4 1/2 years in advance. That would be the equivalent of sitting here in Atlanta and saying (today) "May 1st 2009? I'm going to be in New Jersey that day..." Why not know where I am spending a holiday week in '08 or '09? Especially if that week is being spent on a DCL ship.

What would Dr. Phil say to us? That we need to get a grip or some perspective? That we need to live our lives today, not just focus on one week in the (perhaps distant) future?

And we would tell him he needed to book a Western with an extra day at CC.

I must confess I check these boards atleast once an hour every day. It is a good thing I have a computer at work, but it is hard to get my work done.

Well I was going to try and Surprise my DH with an anniversary cruise for April in 2006 BUTttttt while on the Wonder for New Years he BOOKED a 7 night 1-28-06 to celebrate our Birthdays instead....so out the porthole went my surprise..

At least he still has no clue about his Surprise 35th Birthday party this year !!!

I think I am here at least once an hour or on days like today FOR hours & hours at a time unless I am out of the house doing something... Like work..Grocery Shopping, etc..

NOT snowed in yet...Thank Goodness...But it has been sleet/raining for 2 straight days...

I am on here several times a day. It does make it hard to chart so I have to leave my office once in a while just to regroup.

I have begun packing and making lists of stuff to pack. When this is all over my DH may never believe me again. Just last night he was complaining about not being able to find some articles of clothing. I just tell him that I washed them and they will show up. Just to make it clear, to those who do not know, DH lives in another state. He is never sure if he has all his laundry or not. He comes home every weekend. I will give him back the clothes, after the cruise. We leave in about 20 days or so for a 3 night on the Wonder. He has no idea. He thinks he is joining me on a business trip. He thinks we are going to CA. Just to throw him off the scent, I have been downloading Disney music and playing it while we are in our home office. He usually sits in there playing computer games while I am on the boards. That is why I had to take my counter off. He would get nosey every once and a while.

This is going to be a great surprise and even better if I pull it off.

Pfishgirl I feel your pain with the surprises.

I'm in the same boat... I've booked for 5/27/06, and don't want to spill the beans til Christmas '05. DH knows, but won't get excited til somewhere around 5/20/06- I can't talk to him about it, so the DISboards are my only only hope of not going crazy!!!!!! I can almost guarantee that I'll open my big mouth way too soon, but the thought of DS7 driving me crazy for 505 days is enough to keep me quiet for a little while longer. So in the meantime, I just commiserate with other DIS'ers. Our 5/27 board already has over 800 posts... we're a chatty bunch- most of them know each other, but I'm not shy... I've jumped right in! :jumping4:

excursions?? how far in advance can they be booked?
any that book quick??

Oh and does anyone know what times are we at each island???

You can book your excursions 90 days in advance. If you go to www.DClTribute.com and look at the navigators posted there it will give you a general idea. The times can vary some. Like the Magic was in Nassau till 2am. When we went we sailed long before that, like around 6 or 7.

Kikipug, you are lucky. Both the meets I am on are not chatty at all and those that are on there know each other. I guess I am a little shy then. I always feel like a thread buster,not that it has stopped me. I just move onto the next thread.

Will check back in, with great anticipation that one of you has posted. Oh, I either need to get a life or go on a cruise. I vote for the cruise! I already have a life and it took me to long to get these people in shap, do not want to start over.

I have been on three DCL trips with my fourth on the horizon....I started planning what and how to pack for the 14 day PC cruise when it was just a rumor I booked it in the first 45 minutes reservations were opened which was May 04

Now we are almost at the 100 day mark

I am always thinking about what we will do...trying to imagine what the excursions will be...I have most of my clothes purchased already (actually I have had them for awhile )

We don't have anything planned for 06 and it is driving me crazy...

How about 4/29/06 for the OCD's any of you on that trip? Thats when we are going and just like kikipug said my husband won't get excited until about April 26 and certainly won't pack until the day we plan to leave. I am planning to start watching for dresses for the formal nights now.
