Obscure questions: Bass fishing at WDW!

Hey here's is a question for the DISers that take pride in knowing all things Disney!

Heading to WDW next month for free dining, very excited!
DH & DS are interested in bass fishing. We have taken the water mice out the the SS Lagoon & lake at WL and it looks like that's probably the best place to book a 2 hour trip for them.
Just wondering if anyone has any first hand knowlege of how the fishing is, where the best site to rent is, and if you would recommend a pontoon boat vs Nitro?

As far as best place to rent it would be at any of the resorts that are on either Bay Lake or Seven Sea Lagoon. By the way both bodies of water are connected and is the largest body of water that Disney has.

My husband and son did the bass fishing trip from the Boardwalk last April. They had the first trip of the morning, can't remember the time! They fished all around Crescent Lake and then spent some time fishing near the counties in Epcot - before Epcot was open.

We went out of Old Key West and fished around the quiet piers at Port Orleans and elsewhere on the narrow river ways to Down Town Disney. We caught the most fish at the Down Town Disney dock, with people streaming by.
