Obnoxious KNOW it all Teens and the computer

Okay so yesterday I spend the whole day in and around Portland Me. taking photos of the coast and more specifically a few lighthouses b/c I wanted to do some water colors this week. When I get home I ask my to son put the photos on the computer. I look at them and I find the ones that I think will make good models. I tell him specifically all I want to do is print drafts AND I do not want to adjust them. They are just for reference. TODAY I get up to print them and he puts this stupid program on called "GIMP" which I TOLD him not to do last night. It is a program like Photoshop or Adobie which I DO NOT NEED ON THESE PHOTOS. I did not want the natural light tampered with but did he listen??? Then he adjusted the size. I go to print one 8x10 and he must have used the program to blow it up to 400% of it size!! I got an 8x10 corner of the sky!! All I wanted to do was just print DRAFTS!! I could kill him!!
I do not know anything about this program (and he KNOWS IT) so now to get the photos the size I want I am going to have to ASK HIM!!

Not sure how this solves the problem? I think it's great when a kid used the computer for creativity. The issue is more that he didn't listen to mom. For that, I guess you'll deal with it the way you'd deal with it for any other infraction.

But for the future, it's probably a good idea to learn how to upload the photos yourself and not ask for his "help" anymore! Also, if you right click on the file you should get a choice of which program to open the photos in, you can choose Windows Picture & Fax viewer instead of Gimp and print them from there. You can change the printer options (via Page Setup) to fit to page and you'll get the whole photo instead of the little piece of sky .
