Obi Wan Predictions

Thanks! I think there should be a cheat sheet.

I sometimes get my timelines twisted up when watching these universe type movies and my kids need to walk me back. Happened when watching the Eternals the other day, which was amazing & happens all the time when I'm watching some long running anime series with my DS... he's all like, "Don't you remember - blah, blah, blah - rattles off a chess game worth of names and moves," and I'm like, "Nope." :rolleyes1

The timeline is definitely getting more complicated with more projects being added. Remember when it was just three movies? Heck, remember when it was just Star Wars and it wasn't even Episode IV? I...don't, actually.

I've had a lot of questions about Mando/Boba, like "Why is Luke so young?" or "Why is Boba so old?" Well, it all makes sense if you know the timeline, but a lot of fans don't. The terms BBY & ABY mean nothing to them, but that's always going to be an issue with the mega-franchises.

Ha, it's definitely more complicated,
our debate around here. was about Ezra and Luke. Hubby didn't believe they were the same age, based on how they're shown in Rebels. ha they are!
I have trouble figuring out when Solo is taking place in the timeline?

They are in fact EXACTLY the same age. Ezra was born on Empire Day, the day the empire was founded, which is the day all that "stuff" went down.

Solo is between 13 and 10 BBY, so about 10 years before A New Hope, and 9ish years after the Empire was founded.

I bet we will see some of the comic storyline regarding Vader and Krrsantin... and the interaction between Krrsantin and Obiwan where Black-K gets that eye scar. They didn't introduce that new Wookie just for one series.

Agreed. I didn’t know about Krrsantin before BoBF, but if he has history, he’s too important to leave as a minor appearance.

I did not know this! (About Ezra)

I’m hoping Hera appears again, I really liked her character. Also AP-5, Chopper, and why not do everyone a favor and bring HK-47 (from Knights of the Old Republic) to live action?

Vader will be back, they did confirm Hayden Christensen will be in the series. This should mean Palpatine's back too. I hope they do a stand-alone story with those guys, and not just use Palpatine to lay down some foreshadowing to Rise of Skywalker.
Speaking of Palpatine, I'd like to see his son (aka Rey's father) show up in one of these series. Seeing some of his story would help connect the sequel trilogy to the OT and possibly redeem it the way Clone Wars did for the prequels. I'm guessing he'd still be a child during Obi-Wan?

So did everyone watch? It's decent, good to see some of the old cast back. And some new cast, like the actress from Queen's Gambit as the persistent Sith. Part of me wants to say she's actually going to end up an ally to Obi Wan, and then she'll eventually get cut down by Vader. However, there was a moment in episode 2 where she completely took me by surprise, so all bets are off.

Opening up the series with a scene from Order 66 was a great idea. Obi Wan's reluctance to expose himself as a Jedi, along with his insistence that he's not the same Obi Wan, reminds me a little of Unforgiven. Which means it's going to rock when Obi finally turns on the saber and become his old self again. We're seeing him a little rusty in combat too, I trust that's a deliberate move which will contrast with his later return to form.

That would be great if Leia got some screen time. Her foster dad Bail Organa was featured in the Clone Wars show, If I recall, and he's important enough to bring back, so that would open the door for some Leia moments. I can't imagine the whole show will be on Tatooine.
It has come true!

I loved it! I am pretty sure that Reva was one of the younglings at the Jedi Temple and that she may actually be trying to use the capture of Obi-Wan to get an audience with Vader to take her revenge on him. I don't think she will be an ally to Obi-Wan, but she definitely has her own agenda. I think it's funny that even the other Inquisitors don't like her!

We did watch and it was a bit weak. There is an expectation of charismatic vibe and no-one really brought that so far, like Obi-Wan is the trusted sage & Vader will likely be the villain. The other characters seem to be building a mini spinoff but it's just not grabbing. For the recipe to be complete we need another likable maverick like Han Solo & Grogu, acting like Sandra Oh & Jodie Comer in Killing Eve, Hugh Laurie in House, it needs a BIG likable personality that the audience gives permission to skim rules, the recipe is really a big part of the franchise and without it things just sort of happen. Fingers crossed for the next episodes :)

Good idea, her being one of the younglings.

I was also surprised to see Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I can count the number of movies/shows I've seen him in on one hand.

The clone wars veteran was another interesting touch.

I almost wonder if that's what they are trying to do with Leia, make her the cute but stubborn companion to add some comic relief and "aww' factor. Baby Leia.

We haven't seen Qui Gon yet, but I'm sure he'll appear at some point.

BTW, I had to laugh during the Star Wars logo intro where we cycle through the lights reflecting off of familiar helmets. The mouse droid, of all things, was featured!

During the "recap", wasn't there a line from Yoda(?) about being able to bond/connect with old masters? I'm totally paraphrasing because it's been 3-4 days since I watched.

Tha tline is from Revenge of the Sith. I think it will clearly come into play at some point.

I loved both episodes. I am a casual star wars fan so I do not know who everyone is but I love these shows. I like Leia but I think they should have used a girl who looks older. We were saying that she looks like a 6 year old not 10, but other than that both episodes were awesome to me.
