It's about ten days before we leave for our first cruise. I'm contemplating whether we should book on board for the next one if we like it. I think it requires $250 deposit, but I'm wondering how long one has to complete the cruise. Is it twenty four months from the date of the on board booking, or twenty four months from the date you pick for the second cruise, or some thing else entirely. Thanks in advance for any help/input!

To maximize your time window, book the latest you can during the cruise to eke out a few more days!

Your next cruise needs to start by the day that is 24 months from the day you booked the placeholder.

Is this available to everyone or Just ppl who booked thru Disney. (I used a TA) Thanks

It is available to anyone. It is $200. If you book it early on during the cruise the onboard booking agent will hold on to it and put it through the last day

Here is the wording from my most recent OBB and email from DCL on 12/22/15:

Travel By: 22-Dec-2017
This reservation must commence on or before the Travel By date listed above or the reservation will automatically cancel and deposit will be refunded.

It's a good idea to have your booking card filled out but not drop it off until the last day of your cruise in order to maximize the 24 month window. We should have done that on our last cruise, it would have given us a few more days of flexibility.
