OBB Dessert party... instead of WOC?

I've been waiting to book a WOC dessert party in October....but nothing is open online after Sept 8. Meanwhile there are bookings open for the OBB dessert party right through. Am I right in thinking WOC may be off the schedule because of this? (FWIW looks like plenty of availability for the OBB party...if you have a ticket already)

The OBB dessert party only takes places on OBB party nights. It has nothing to do with WOC since WOC would not be running during OBB anyhow.

Last year there was World of Color Dessert Party in September and October on non OBB nights. WOC is not on the refurb calendar. So either it is on refurb and not announced or Disneyland has not released the WOC dessert party reservations yet for after Sept. 8.

Disneyland has been very slow in releasing dining reservations as it relates to Halloween Time dining events. Goofy's Kitchen opens on Aug. 15 for August 23rd and beyond dates. Storytellers just opened last week. Reservations for the Halloween tour which starts on August 23rd just opened up a few days ago. We shall see what happens with WOC.

I’ve been waiting for this too for our September trip! Sadly WOC is now showing on the refurbishment list in the Events calendar as of Sep 9th. The calendar I have only goes to Sep 23rd so I have no idea how long it will be closed 😕

You scared me. It’s not showing on the refurbishment list.

Very strange! I see it on an iPad as well as a PC. I attached a screenshot. I’m in Canada if that makes a difference.

I really hope I’m wrong!!

Interesting. Nothing on the USA website Disneyland or on the Disneyland App in USA.
No newspaper or Disney websites have reported it as being closed. There are plenty of Disney insiders on X and Youtube and nothing about WOC being on refurb.

How strange! I'm not seeing it as as a refurb either. I'm outside the US too. Will be interested to see what happens with this!

I'm in the US and am seeing on the DLR website that WoC is not listed after Sunday, September 8th. There is no "Closed for Refurbishment" section on the DCA calendar page, so maybe the lagoon isn't being refurbished. But neither are there any times listed for the show.

Yes... it's just kind of disappeared... hoping it's just a late drop....

I hope it is open! DLR is notorious for being VERY slow to post nighttime entertainment. I remember once several years ago when I went in November they did not post the fireworks schedule until 1 week before!

That being said, I do recall WOC was originally supposed to be closed earlier in 2024 for a multi month refurb. I believe they shortened it to only 1 month. They might have some additional work they need to do and they might be thinking that it's best to do it in the fall when OBB is happening since it's less nights per week being impacted. They usually show WOC every night all year otherwise.

In another weird Canada/US glitch it seems that if you change the language at the top of the Disneyland website from United States (English) to Canada (English) then WOC shows on the refurbishment list for DCA. However if you leave the language as United States (English) it does not appear.

I came across this glitch previously when I was attempting to book the OBB Dessert Party and the reservation times would not appear…until I changed my settings to United States (English),

Wow, you're right, VicGirl. That's really weird!

I called Disneyland about WoC today. Of course, the cast member seemed to know less than we did, but agreed that it seemed likely that WoC would be down for at least some part of September (aside from the usual Bash dates). I brought up the Canada language switch thing, but that didn't provide any more clarity. The cast member consulted her team, which also didn't help. Her suggestion was to keep watching for dates.

And if you switch to US (Español) it’s on the refurb list.

(Also, hi VicgirlBC 👋 I’m on the peninsula so we’re practically neighbours!)
