Obamacare success stories please

I like this success story:

"Vinson, of San Jose, will pay $1,800 more a year for an individual policy, while Waschura, of Portola Valley, will cough up almost $10,000 more for insurance for his family of four."

"Of course, I want people to have health care," Vinson said. "I just didn't realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally."

And these are supporters of the ACA. Or maybe, soon to be ex-supporters?

Classic...the charitable fellow who looks at the less fortunate and says "someone should do something" - as long as the "someone" isn't him! LOL...

Yes, the US gives 55 billion dollars a year in foreign aid. Then in our own country, hundreds of millions are spent on stupid things like $175,587 to determine if cocaine makes Japanese quail engage in sexually risky behavior, $3 million to researchers at the University of California at Irvine to fund their research on video games such as World of Warcraft and $615,000 was given to the University of California at Santa Cruz to digitize photos, T-shirts and concert tickets belonging to the Grateful Dead to name a few. Not to mention Fannie Mae asking for another 4.6 billion.

All of this money would go a long way toward buying insurance for the indigent in this country.

I suspect the media is going to be spending a LOT of time in high cost of living areas to find anti-ACA stories, because that's where the compelling stories are going to come from... Places where the pay is higher because the costs are higher, but the federally established income guidelines are the same as everywhere else.

Remember... The United State is the only developed country in the WORLD where it's legal to make a profit off of someone's health care.

So true and now we that tax payers will be paying the government to pay private corp again.

scary:scared1:

not to mention the fact that corporations have been given the rights of being a person, which is more scary :scared1: and this isn't new like ACA.

Something else we agree on. I actually didn't support the ACA and am still not a fan - it is better than doing nothing in some ways and on a practical level it will be of great benefit to my family and many others that I care about, but it is in essence hiring the foxes to guard the henhouse. Sure, they're the ones that have been raiding it all along but we're supposed to trust that they're going to do better now. After unsustainable growth and absurd complexities driven mainly by the current insurance structure, we're now required to patronize the very companies that created the need for reform in the first place.

And Citizens United was nothing short of a travesty.

Obamacare won't change that. Health insurance companies will get about $1.2 trillion dollars off this healthcare plan.

I know this is a success story thread, but I just have to share that my DD prescription that has been the same price for over a year just all of the sudden magically went up $15.00. Coincidence? I don't think so sweetheart.

NOT HAPPY.

Same here. My son's prescriptions have slowly doubled in cost during the past few months.

Yep. Mine went up from last month to this. I was paying $50.00 and now it is 65.00. HOw nice. Who decided I was rich and could afford it. Oh and no choice about getting it filled. It is her insulin. Kinda have to have that little number.

Sorry for your increase. Who knows what is going to happen to us next.

The next thing will be the insurance company deciding how much insulin they'll pay for every month. Doesn't matter how much your doctor prescribed or how much you use or actually need.

They all ready do this. Aca has nothing to do with it. Maybe there is something written in that we don't know about yet?

Anyways insurance isn't health care once again! Broken record me!

OH lord. She is 14, no one better ever tell me how much she needs. But I wouldn't be surprised at least the way things are going now. Never had a problem in the past.

Some do. Some don't. My friend and her doctor have to fight her insurance every couple of months about her insulin. It's not like she can live on less insulin. Not unless they want to pay for a stay in the ICU at the end of every month for DKA when she runs out.

Well sorry, but my Insurance company has NEVER questioned my Dr. I give them the script and they fill it. I find it odd how they suddenly went up this month. I see only one thing that could have caused this. Way too much of a coincidence.

And yes, from what I understand there is most likely stuff that no one knows about.

And no, insurance isn't health care, it is just what PAYS for health care. I they just decided to pay less. Funny how that happened right now, isn't it?

That's my point some insurance plans already do this so you cannt blame Aca for it. Blame insurance. Broken record time, Insurance is not health care. Insurance is to protect you from $$$ lost period.

Ever ask how much insulin cost without insurance, or how much pharmacy gets from insurance for it? Just curious

Just curious, why all of the sudden now? Very suspicious. I have had this insurance for 25 years.

This isn't about how much it costs, this is about why all of the sudden in October, it went up. I think I have a pretty good idea why.

Yep more then likely greed.

What's right answer? I'm just guessing, corporate greed isn't bad guess. How about taxes.

Lol on the big buzzer, that's really funny.

Glad you liked it. I am on a roll today. I blame the govt, greed, taxes, lawyers, politicians, the list goes on and on. I think they are all equal opportunity pieces of crap.
