I believe JW's follow still much of what's in the Old Testament, specifically Leviticus when it comes to unclean blood. No blood transfusions at all. Whatsoever, on excuses.

My momma is a JW, and under no circumstances can they have blood transfusions. It's kinda scary to think about, especially when you're mother is extremely ill and has horrible blood problems.

It's really sad, and it upsets me. My friend is a JW and it makes me worry that someday he's gonna be in a situation like that and his family is just gonna let his life meander away because a book in the Bible said blood is unclean once it leaves the original body.

Wanda, personally I think it's sad that you see men as 'above' you some how. All these years of fighting for equal rights, and some women don't even think they're worthy of it.

I'm not UPSET that she believes that way (she was really depressed before she started being a JW), I just worry really badly. When they were telling her she needed one to live though, I was like, "SCREW IT, I'M KNOCKING YOU OUT AND WE'RE GOING TO THE HOSPITAL!"

Wanda...some men are HECKA stupid. Seeing as men aren't perfect anymore (as according to God), how are they a good judge of what I am supposed to and not supposed to do? What if you're husband is secretly not of your religion, and asks you to do things that are not in the constricts of your beliefs?

Do you know how many gay men pretend to be straight, because they're so scared of their sexuality, or because they know their religion states it's "wrong"? They marry women instead. What if your husband was really gay? What if he was a cheater and committed adultery? What if he was a murderer?

I've had blood transfusions and I see nothing wrong with that. It's some denominations that have a problem with that. But in actuality, there is nothing wrong with that.

See, our family friends did an inter-religious marriage. The man is Jewish, woman was Christian. She was willing to (and did) convert to Judaism in the name of love. Their son is Jewish. And they love each other very much, irregardless of religion.
