Obama the 'Second coming'?????

Some people really need to get out more if this is the biggest concern in their lives...

Since I don't believe in the first coming, how could I ever believe that Obama (or anyone else) is the second?

Heaven knows I am no Obama supporter, but in all fairness to giving both sides, we can't really say Bush wasn't snorting his fair share of coke well into adulthood. He just refused to answer the question when asked. I think it speaks volumes that he never DENIED it. The rumors in Texas strongly suggested he didn't limit his activities to excessive drinking, and that "other" activities were going on well into his 30s. It's just not that big a secret. He was a hardcore party boy long after he stopped being a boy. When your father is as influential as his, lots of things can get swept under the rug.

Just started this thread to see if people actually thought if Obama was the second coming. Apologies to Disers who arent Christian.

I (and many others) have noticed a strong 'religious' atmosphere surrounding the Obama campaign, and the article I posted correlates with that. I even made sure to put in the poll about "is this a stupid question", cause I just dont get the whole Obama whoopla.

What I got was a 'how dare you' post this stuff, you are crazy...etc etc type post attacking me. Whatever! I can take it.

For anyone who has questioned or stated anything negative about Obama on these boards in any way shape of form, wether right or wrong or indifferent. The Obama supporters came out with claws.

Proof has been asked for and given, but denied by OS as "look at the source"..yadda yadda. Is there a list of "Obama approved & accredited" sites that are ok to use?

There is a distnct difference between asserting that there is a reliigious atmosphere and that saying that this atmosphere implies that folks ridiculously believe that Obama is the second coming.(let alone the antichrist)

I do not believe for one second that you thought many people believed Obama was the second coming - I think you just wanted the rise that you nevitably got. Stop playing the hurt puppy.

I thought the number would be under 10, which it is. Again that why I did put the 3rd optionin. That didnt get there by itself. But there are people out there (not necessarily on the DisBoards) who do believe that.

Yup, that is partially true. It is fun to get a rise outta disers! But I am also fascinated by the religious type overtones to the Obama Campaign. Just a personal quirky fascination with it all.

I like Hillary and knew she would make a much better candidate for the Democratic Party. But I really dont REALLY trust anybody I personally dont know. There are trust worthy people I dont personally know, but Trust is something I dont automatically give anybody. And when it comes to Politicians...they have to work overtime for me to even be considered remotely "trustworthy".

Hillary is not only a Democrat but a BIG TIME democrat and she will tow the party line. But in all honesty I didnt like Obama candidacy from the get go, he really was my last on the list to support for President. I just cant see voting for him, I really think he will do more harm then good!

So even though you and Hillary will vote for him, I won't! Sorry!

I really would like to better understand the religious overtones (or whatever anybody wants to call it) surrounding the Obama Campaign.

I would especially like to hear from a Obama Supporter who does see the religious overtones. I do find that most OS wont agree that they excist. But most NON OS'er do clearly see the religious overtones.
