Obama '08

I just posted that link on the "any thoughts on Obama for president thread" I hope he runs, I really like him.

He probably will drop his name in the hat so he can gain exposure. He really will be the frontrunner for the Dem's in 2012.

unless we elect a democrat in 2008, then he will most likely have to wait til 2016.

However, even David Brooks recommends he run in '08, because if the Dems win this one, the republicans might have an edge in '12. He was on Meet the Press this am and was excellent, despite claims he isn't good unscripted. I love the guy. He definitely is the freshest candidate from either party in my memory. He admitted to Russert that he is being approached and is now considering it. :thumbsup2

This very well may happen, but do you think he'd get the nomination over Hillary?

I also heard that Kerry is considering running again, but IMO Obama stands a better chance than either of them. If Obama and Clinton were on the same ticket (as VP, P or P, VP) I think they'd be unstoppable. Obama is so well spoken, sounds so intelligent and so strong in moral fiber that it is like night and day when compared with the governmental corruption we see now (esp. in Jersey).

Very good thought. Quite possible to see this.

It would be interesting to see what those who usually do not vote Democratic think about the Kerry/Clinton/Obama thing - that might be the deciding factor- who will appeal to disillusioned Republicans who might sway to the Democrats.

And yes, Obama does have my vote. I was even searching for Obama t shirts online!

I don't know why so many think Hillary is a done deal. Regardless of what you think of her politics, she a very, very smart woman. The numbers just do not add up for her and she is well aware of this. She will probably be offered a Senate leadership position, for which she will be well suited and will enjoy. I'm sure she will accept and forgo the Presidential run. I would be very surprised to see her do otherwise.

Personally, I really like Hillary. I have seen her speak in person, and she's very charismatic, but she is unelectable. Too many people feel too strongly against her.

Obama was very impressive on Meet the Press this morning. He is the front runner and the best Democratic hope.

I have voted republican in the past couple of elections...( could not stand gore or kerry) but I would love to see B. Obama run...i would support him!

Having Hillary on the ticket would lose votes for Obama.

Maybe some, but overall, I think there would be enough support that it would work, ESPECIALLY if Hillary was on the ticket as VP.

I really think it's too bad for Hillary, because the whole marriage scandal (and just being married to Bill, IMO) has ruined her reputation in a lot of people's eyes, and I don't think a lot of people really hate her politics, they just don't like her for other reasons.

:thumbsup2

I posted in the other thread that I think he is a revolutionary and will do great things for our country ... He graduated from the same high school in Hawaii (Punahou) that Sun Yat-Sen (father of modern China) and Steve Case (established AOL) attended.
