It's easy to get hooked, isn't it? Did you find HAL to be a much older crowd? Do you have kids and were there many kids onboard? I think you're right, we probably have similar tastes in cruises.
That sounds like a great idea. One hour private was about $475 on Oasis. But I have read that sometimes people combine a private with a bunch of people they meet at the FlowRider. That is awesome that your son wins Best of the Best. He must be pretty good. What kinds of things does he do? Later, I will talk about our Best of the Best on Day 7.We have found booking the private session instead of the lesson works even better. My oldest son has won the Best of the Best on the Freedom the past 2 years in a row.
Sounds like it would be an awesome cruise. You wouldn't find the same problem with deck chairs on Oasis. There were always open chairs. Unless you want to be right by the poo.I had read on Cruise Critic that HAL was an older crowd, but on our sailing, it wasn't...I'm 37 and DH is 40, and there were people of all ages. We have kids, but didn't bring them...this was DH's big 40th B-day getaway. There were lots of kids on board...I'd say about 200-250. The staff did mention that our sailing was the youngest crowd they'd seen. A lot of the entertainment and activities were geared towards an older crown even though our sailing had a lot of younger folks. The service was INCREDIBLE. Being a Disney nut, I am used to Disney's friendly service. Every crew member we encountered smiled and said hello...many greeted us by name. They really made you feel like VIP, even though we had the cheapest inside stateroom. That being said, I think we just want a newer, bigger ship esp. if we take the kids. (not sure I want something as big as Oasis, but I like that you said it didn't feel crowded) The one "big" thing I didn't like was that they did not have enough deck chairs in the sun...like the flowrider is the make or break for you, reading a book in the sun with a fruity drink was a must for me, and it was suprisingly difficult, esp. the first few days. That and the A/c was broken in our cabin at first, but that could have happened on any ship in any cruise line, I think.
I can't wait to hear more about your wonderful cruise!
Thank you! I'm trying to keep it moving.Love the trip report. Can't wait to hear more.
Thanks for the interest. Sorry I'm not able to update even as often as I'd like to.I can't wait for more of the TR. I have been lurking at least 2 times a day, just waiting for a new post.
It's crazy how much is on that ship. I'm not even sure you could see and do everything with a Back-to-Back cruise on her! Those were some great memories we made.Wow - what a fantastic time you all seem to be having.
Those photos of the ship are amazing!!! I seriously can't believe all that stuff can fit onto one cruise ship.
What a great graduation trip this is turning out to be for your daughter - something special you will all remember!![]()
Thanks so much! Yes, P90x is killing me. Tonight was Core Synergistics. Bring it!Your trip sounds so nice! I just started P90X too, that is intense!
It was just a taxi stop. This tour was not at all what I would consider "active". It was more informational.was that a tour that takes you to see all the nature/the iguanas/etc? Like the tree climbing and stuff or was it a just a taxi stop?
Thanks![]()
So glad you're enjoying! Will your Disney cruise hit some of the same ports we did?Great review, makes me feel like I'm actually there!![]()
Yes, our first port was Nassau, but we were only there from 7am to 2pm. Back on board by 1:30pm.If one of your ports included Nassau, then yes, my cruise will go to one of the ports you did. (We are only doing a 3 Night)
Yes, this is posted on Cruise Critic as well. I won't be spoiling Quest. I totally agree with you about the cheating for a keychain. Some people...Great trip report. I love Royal Caribbean, but I'm still not too sure about the larger ships. I can only travel during school vacations and the amount of people that fit on those ships scares me
Did you say you are posting this report on Cruise Critic too? If so, you might want to avoid too much info about Quest. They'll skin you for letting the cat out of the bag.
Personally, I love Quest when people play fair. I was on Navigator one year and this group in front of us had one lady with them that brought a huge beach bag filled with things for the game. Our cruise director said in the beginning of the game that those that brought bags of items needed to put them away, but these people did not. I can't believe how people cheat just to get a plastic keychain.Plus, it's so much more fun when you actually have to go on a Quest
