Cam someone please tell me about these two places...I know it's a shame but I am more interested in the theming than the food...thanks so much!

The themeing of both is spectacular.

Mythos is themed as an underwater grotto or cavern carved out by the action of the waves. the faces of nymphs and gods emerge from the walls and a stream runs through the restaurant.

The huge opening that gives onto the kitchen is themed as the mouth of an enormous fish or sea monster.

Despite the grotto theme, the restaurant is very bright and airy. Large windows open onto the lagoon and you can look across to Marvel Superhero Island.

The Oak Tavern takes the form of an enormous gnarled tree stump that bears the face of the ancient magician Merlin. Inside, the room soars upwards in the middle to a beautiful stained glass circular ceiling filled with mystical symbols.

The interior is dark and atmospheric, with booths and niches formed by the irregular twists of the old tree trunk. Very cool.

A large terrace out back looks over to Jurassic Park.

Kelly,

Thanks very much! I have your book in front of me as I am typing this. I have found it very helpful indeed!

That's neat, I never noticed that! I'll have to look for it next time. If you go to Mythos, make sure to check out the bathrooms. I'm not sure where they fit into the theming but they're different.:p

Just don't go in if you're drunk! ;)

Now, Kelly, did we need to know that? ;)

The Mythos bathrooms are very um interesting... the one thing I can tell you is the braille is wrong on the signs in the front.

My DH noticed that. So if you are visually impaired, ask someone before going in the wrong one!

(We brought this to IOA's attention in 2001/hopefully it is fixed now!)

Also in Mythos, you can go outside on the porch and see some god (Neptune/maybe?) holding up the restaurant.. We have some very cool pictures of that, and the view from the porch.
