We just got back from our 5 night stay there(May 3-8)and I was so impressed with this place. Its a timeshare condo, the whole place was not big. Its not a big timeshare thing, but small enough to make it very pleasant. I got a rate of 39$ a night for a one bedroom condo. I dont know how I got that lucky as I booked the room at the end of January. I knew of nobody who had been there, the website looked nice. We had a queensize pullout sofa for the kids, and a king size bed in the bedroom. The bedroom also contained a walk in closet. We had a full size washer and dryer, and a full equipped kitchen as well as a big dining room table and a counter area with 2 bar stool type chairs to eat there as well. We were right across the street from the pool. There are 2 large heated pools, and a kiddie interactive pool as well, and a jacuzzi. The place had tennis courts, basketball courts, and an area to feed the ducks. There was a small playground as well as a game room. There are no stores on the grounds or any bars.. But thats ok, it was wonderful. It was very close to the super Walmart, kind of out of the way hidden. They never onced bothered us to take a tour of the place.
They maintained the grounds very nicely.Anything we needed they brought to us right away. We didnt pay extra for maid service. But, they will bring you extra towels or anything else you needed. I cant say enough good things about this place. Also, one night they had a movie playing in the pool area, my son and husband enjoyed the movie, as I stayed in the room while my daughter slept.
So with tax the room was 39$ plus 4.68. You cant get a good hotel room for that price. LIke I said, I lucked out with that price, and I would surely stay there again.

From Oak Plantation, how long did it take to drive to Universal, Sea World, & WDW? Also, where did you go to find such a great rate? Thanks.

How I got that rate.. It was just pure luck. Back in Mid January when I was searching for places to stay for the first week of May Oak Plantation was one that popped up. I knew nothing about it, and didnt know anybody who stayed there.
I would say it was right around 20 minutes to drive to Universal from there. We spent 2 days at Universal. We didnt go to Sea World this time so I dont know the driving distance to that place.

Wow, sounds like a nice place, and sounds like you got a great deal. Did you book them through their own website, or did were you using another website like Travelocity or Travelzoo? I'm putting this on our list to check for our Jan '05 trip---Thanks!

We stayed here in November '03 and loved it. We liked how the property was small yet close to a lot of conveniences. There are several types of one bedroom set ups, some larger than others.

THanks for your review! I'm glad to hear you liked it, because we're staying there in a couple of weeks. We got a rate of $49 (including taxes) from either Expedia or Travelocity for a one bedroom.

Are there many restaurants near by? Any within walking distance?

I guess there is alot of places to eat, walking distance. BUT, the traffic is so horrible around there, we never walked anywhere. There is a Ponderosa, and several other types of places very close, less then a 1/4 of a mile.
You did great with your 49$ rate.
