Oak Island Cove?

Just wondered if anyone has stayed here and would be able to tell me about the area?, any advice would be great thanks , we are looking to rent a villa for Feb and at the moment are searching where to rent

I haven't stayed there but did drive around the subdivision in March. It's in the Formosa Gardens area next to Acadia Estates and just before Emerald Island. It seems very nice, similar to other subdivisions in that area. It isn't gated at all. Some of the homes are near the new highway and I probably would not want to stay in one that backs on to that but the other areas of the subdivision were ok. It would take about 5 - 7 minutes to get to Disney AK using Sherberth Road. Formosa Gardens shopping plaza, Outback Steakhouse and Red Lobster are about 2 or 3 minutes away. We've stayed in this area in Indian Creek, Lindfields and Windsor Hills and find it to be great.
Oak Island Cove doesn't have any community facilities, just homes with pools.

We stayed in Oak Island Cove over Easter. Sympatico is right. The community is not gated...it's more like a nice residential area. If you look on google earth you can see where the new highway has been built and cross check that against the address of the home you are interested in to make sure it's not right by it. We were in an area away from that new road and had no problems at all...no noise or anything. The homes have their own screened-in pools. Access to Disney is VERY quick using Fumie Steed Road to Entry Point Blvd and then across to Sherbeth Road. We'd stay there again.
