I am putting together a slideshow for dh for father's day. He and ds 4 just got back from a fishing/camping trip to Maine and I have put together a slideshow of their photos but I wanted to add music and need to find the perfect song. Any suggestons? Thanks

I dont really know the name of it i am not good with that, but i like the country song that talks about the little boy wanting to be just like his dad,

First thing that popped into my head is the song from "A Goofy Movie" where Max and Goofy are floating down the river on top of the car singing to each other. AND they have their fishing poles with them!

The song is Watching You by Rodney Atkins.

Speed :teleport:

Are you wanting to go sentimental? How about "You'll Be in My Heart" by Phil Collins from Tarzan? I love that song.
That's a wonderful gift - I'm sure he will treasure it.

Thanks for all the replies. I am going to check them out. I know that he is going to love it and be completely surprised. This trip was a huge thing for both of them. Ever since dh and I have been married and raising children he has worked between 60 and 70 hours per week. He never really had time to spend with the kids. Two years ago he was diagnosed with a cerebral aneurysm. He got laid off last August and his headaches have been getting worse to the point that he is unable to return to work.
Because of the placement of his aneurysm surgery has huge risks so he has been putting it off. Over the last year he has been home with ds and been able to attend functions for the girls that he has missed over the years. Ds will start kindergarten in the Fall and dh is now considering surgery so the trip was a time for them. I want the slideshow to show there stress free, relaxing "boys only" adventure. I was at a huge loss for a song since the only one that popped into my head was the one dh listened to all the time the first few months after he was diagnosed. (Live Like You Are Dieing) I did NOt want to use that although it is his favorite. Thanks again. Now I am off to listen to those songs.

The music from the ride Soarin' is really nice if you wanted something without lyrics (for very dramatic fishing shots ;)). The song I think it's just called Lullaby by the Dixie chicks the one that starts- "How long do you want to be loved?" Very sweet song, but since it is pictures of a fishing trip one of the other suggestions probably fits better. You've got a friend in me from Toy Story could be cute too or Bare Necessities from the Jungle Book.

Good luck, this is a nice idea for a father's day gift :)

OH, there's a great song by Garth Brooks I think it's called 'Sail my vessel'? I'll have to look thru my CDs to see if I can find it. I think that would be a great song for those kinds of pictures. :goodvibes

Are you thinking of "The River"? I love that song!

Check out Amazon.com 's music downloads. They have little snippets that you can listen to, and you can download a single song for 90-cents or so.

There is also a LOT of free downloadable music on there. Unknown artists usually, but hey, free. Lots of country.

You know now that I think about it, that might be the title.
I know part of the chorus contains the phrase "and I will sail my vessel 'til the river runs dry." It would make sense that it is called 'the River'. :rotfl:
they used it in a dvd for one of my kids dvds from elem school promotion and it made many of us get teary eyed. Although, I think any song they used would've made us moms cry. :lmao:

No song suggestions, but just an idea... While you've got all of the pictures organized, it would be super easy to put together a photobook through a site like mypublisher.com. Upload them in the order that you've got them in the slideshow and it could even auto-format a book for you. You could add text, background story, etc. There are often coupon codes also, so you could get multiple copies of the book if needed. BTW - God bless you and your family as you deal with this illness. I pray for strength, comfort and healing for you.
