With school and after-school programs back in full swing (and it seems to be busier this year than ever before), I am running out of quick dinner ideas. Does anyone have any recipe gems to share to make some quick meals? We like cooking with fresh ingredients and tend to avoid cooking with canned soups. If you have any winning recipes that you and your family enjoy and are quick/easy to make, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks in advance!

Take Out!LOL

Ok, Ok, I have this chicken recipe that you season the chicken, dredge in flour, place pat of butter on each piece and place in 350 deg over and back until ready. Tastes like Deep Fried without all the extra fat.

Tastes good cold too!

Scratch42, sounds good! And no measuring too! I have chicken in the fridge, so that would be a great idea for tonight (piano lessons night).

What about hard Tacos...that way everyone can add what they want to their own taco. Or you can check on Kraft.com (or .ca --- I am not too sure which one) they have some good ideas sometimes.

There's a great little pizza shop that sells them but calls them pattyman's. Cook the patties then slice them open, add mayonaise lettuce, tomato and cheese ontop of the meat, Quick and sooooo easy. :goodvibes

I hear you..too much to do and never enough time...of course, if I quit hanging out here so much...;)

Stir frys...and Rice cooker/steamers
When I buy the meat, I slice into strips, put in freezer bag with whatever marinade - sometimes soya sauce, italian salad dressing, etc...throw it all into the freezer..grab the package out of the freezer, add some frozen vegs, serve over rice, with salad.

A canned soup slow cook - not your preference, but so easy..
Package of stew beef, onion soup mix, can of cream of mushroom. Mix together in casserole dish, cook in oven at 300* for 1.5 - 2 hours.(cooks while you're at piano lessons!:) ) Serve with rice and veg from the steamer;), and yum..If you want to add rice in to cook along with the meat, just add a can of water for every cup of rice. Tried throwing noodles in for a change, but they came out all mushy:crazy2:

Tacos are great...I cook the large packages of hamburger all at once, separate into supper size portions and throw into freezer bags...You can so spaghetti, tacos, etc..so quick that way.

Love our Foreman grill, too...

HTH!!

:sunny:

Hey MBB...what great ideas! I've never marinated the meat and thrown it into the freezer before. I've only cut the meat into stirfry strips. But thanks for the tip to go one step further. Definitely a time saver.

I do the canned soup thing once in a blue moon. I just am trying to be a purist these days and cook everything from scratch. But your stewed beef with canned soup is quite tempting and sounds delish! That is definitely going on my menu next week!

Many thanks, and keep 'em coming!!!
