sorry, but I didn't want to post to the existing thread it is soooo long I thought my question might get lost.

I am wondering what website service everyone uses to get their photos online. I use webshots but I would like to know if there is an easier or less expensive way to do it.

thanks@@@!!!!~~~just trying to pay for my vouchers... :)

I put mine on my personal webspace from my internet provider. Most providers provide some amount of space for free.

Walmart.com AFter you upload pics, then you can develop them for $.24 cents each and have them shipped to your nearest store for no extra charge. You can also buy web space from them pretty cheap if you want to leave pics online for longer than the month they give you free when you upload. I send the link to family members and they can have their own prints made and shipped to them.

Do you have a digital camera...if so you don't need to use a service.

mep 319 ~ I do have a digital camera..... how would I get the pictures on the internet without a webpage? It is a kodak easyshare camera. I never thought to look and see if kodak allows me to have a webpage. I will take a look, thanks!

Mickey Moose, I used Wal-mart photo processing before I went digital now I just use the image station at the store for the pic's I want developed. I don't think there is a way to get them on the internet from the image station.

Gail, is it necessary to have a Sony camera? I have a Sony video does that count??? lol

thanks :)

Is there a reason you don't want to use ebay's services? You can post one pic free with your listing. Additional pics are a small charge.

You don't have to have a webpage to get them in a listing....or in an email or anything..unless you just want your own webpage. Now that I know you have a digital camera I can try to explain it to you. Let me know if I lose you or if you need further explanation.

When you up load your pictures from your camera save them to a desktop folder. I have one on my desktop just called ebay. I usually try to save them with a description in the name so I know what it is ...ie blackboots.jpg etc. You can always just left click and hold then drag them to the folder and let go if you are sending them from a editing program/upload program. Resizing your window smaller helps with the click/drag method.

When you do your listing on ebay there is the tab for add picture... click on there. There will be s window that will open. Go to the drop down on the top, click on the arrow to the right, click on desktop...it will then bring up all files from the desk top. Click on your ebay folder and then click open. You will then have all the pictures from your file. Click on the photo you want and click open again. Repeat on the next "add picture" on ebay for each additional picture you want to put on that listing. The picture will show where the "add picture" use to be.

Then continue as usual. There is no reason to pay for a webservice. It is actually a waste of money unless you want to edit your photo and do not have your own software or like I said above you just want a webpage.

We use our own space that came with our DSL provider.

"Webspace" is different then if you have a "webpage". Check with your internet provider - you probably have some free amount of space.

I use sparedollar for listing and uploading my auction photos too. It is 4.95 per mo. 1st month free for trial. I like it because I can put a ton of photos in one auction without paying any extra. Nice templates too.

I use sony www.imagestation for personal photos. You can copy the properties and post them right here in a thread if you want!

Just like this......

thanks for all the reply's! sorry it has taken me awhile to check back. hope you don't mind helping some more because I tried a couple of your suggestions and can't get either to work.

I downloaded sony imagestation and had no trouble uploading my pics. The problem is I can't figure out how to get the url or image to eBay.

Then, I tried to do what mep319 said and I am really lost. When I go to "sell" and auction I don't see a tab that says add picture.

I didn't realize I could add one picture free so I will try that if I have an item that I only want one pic. Thanks for that info :D

thanks again

I typed that while at work...I don't have ebay access here...I'm resticted! :( Second pictures are only .05, gallery only .25...so it is really inexpensive as compared to a service. I check the steps to nite and edit my response to help. Maybe that will make it clearer!
