Maybe they got that stat by polling people coming out of a Grateful Dead Concert. :hippie: :smokin:

It would be clearer if, when they moved threads, they made a post in the thread that they were moving it, so OP would learn, as well as others.

I thought they used to do this, or maybe it was just some mods that did. I agree, though, and it would certainly clear up some confusion. Mine, mainly. :)

It's in my sig. I don't know if it's accurate or not but I am proud of the fact I have never tried pot. Nothing wrong with that.

Of course there's nothing wrong for not ever trying pot. And I have 4 kids--2 are teens, one is almost a teen and one acts like a teen--and I most certainly prefer that they not use drugs of any sort and I keep a fairly close eye on them so it's less likely that they will and hopefully they will take our values to college with them (my DD is in college).

Having said that, I'm 45yo and at this point in my life it's irrelevant whether I did or didn't smoke pot as a teenager. I'm here now, I'm leading my life in a manner that I am proud of, I'm moral and ethical and all of the other good things that you can think of... (or at least most of the good things that you can think of :) ).

Of course a lot of teens do behavior that puts them at risk so I'm not minimizing the importance of not using drugs as a teen, but once we're past those years it's not normally a part of who we are 25 years later. Or even 10. Of course there are exceptions to that rule and I know of people who allegedly smoke pot with their teenagers.

I think as far as adults are concerned what's important is how they are living their life now. Not what they did or didn't do years ago.

I know a ton of people who have never tried pot in my age group (early 40's). That statistic certainly doesn't work about my aquaintances.

I must hang with the wrong crowd or maybe it's just the wrong city? We're all professionals (professional business people, not pot smokers), high income, own our own homes. I gotta think about this some more. Could it be Washington State has a higher percentage. I need some more percentages and figures to mull over.

I don't know. Everyone I hung out with in highschool were potheads and most have turned into professional business people, having high incomes and owning their own homes. Throw in some yachts and jets and you have a pretty well off group. Heck, most of my in crowd are now millionares with their own businesses! I seriously doubt smoking pot in high school has anything to do with what you do as an ADULT. That's just silly.

I agree. Part of the thing about growing up is deciding what is or what is not appropriate at a given age. I was a party animal in early college - blotto 3 or 4 nights a week. Then life kicked me in the @$$ and I discovered some better priorities. Some people do, some don't.

It's called 'life'. It IS sometimes more about the journey than the destination.
