Front door didn't open or close properly, broken plugs, broken close line in shower, DVD player not hooked up.
I stayed at OKW two years ago and loved it, this year not so much.
The broken outlets are an issue at OKW, and have been for some time. I was hoping they would at least replace those when they did the refurbishing. It's a simple and inexpensive fix, but our unit had the old recepticals where the plug kept falling out too.
No excuse for the front door not closing after a refurb either. The DVD player was probably unhooked by the previous occupant so the kids could use a game system.
Not sure what a close line is in the shower. What is that?
Diane, the studio units have/had a retractable clothes line in the shower/tub. Heavy enough for lingerie, but not much else.
I guess I never really noticed a retractable clothes line, but then I don't stay in studios either.now why DVC does not give 11-14 a cross walk - just don't understand.
There is a cross walk now, thank goodness - it was done a few months agoI will be a bit happier if I get one of those buildings now.
We were in Building 23 during our last visit in Oct. A refurbished room would have been nice, but I ended up being quite happy to be staying in an old style OKW room one last time!!!
Really? There was no crosswalk from buildings 11-14 when we were there 2 weeks ago. The crosswalk for the Peninsular Road villas has always been there. It looks like that is what you are talking about. Pat was talking about the buildings 11-14 area, and there still is no crosswalk there. It is VERY much needed.

The crosswalk for the Buildings 11-14 area was installed in the last several months. It extends from the sidewalk near Buildings 13/14 diagonally across the street to the corner of the sidewalk leading to HH. It was there when we arrived on 12/2 staying in Building 14 and we used it every day of our stay. It is a great help crossing that busy intersection used by WDW busses, guest autos, delivery trucks, DCL buses, ME buses, Bell services, etc.
I never noticed it. I suppose I would have had I been staying over there, but I've always hated that there was no crosswalk there. Interesting that it's diagonal. I would have thought they would put it at the intersection.
There is no sidewalk at the intersection, so they made it diagonal to extend from the HH sidewalk to the Building 13 sidewalk. It cuts right across the roadway and the entrance to the OKW portico and bus stop. Those using the crosswalk are very visible from all angles.
That makes sense. Is it a "backtrack" for those staying in building 14?
