O.k. so how old are your towels?

Most are under two years, but we've got some that are probably in the five year old range. They don't have a chance to get "old" in my house--DH ends up grabbing them for rags a few timea a year.

We received all of our towels for our wedding...6 years ago in June. :) The towels have seen better days, and since we're moving to our first house in two weeks, I'll probably be getting new towels soon.

I still have a few towels from my wedding in 1979. Some are pretty ratty, but keeping towels a long time runs in my family -- both my mom and her mom had a hard time getting rid of their old towels, too.

I agree about many towels these days being too bulky for hair drying and keeping my old ones for that.

I usually buy a beach towel when I visit WDW. I'm looking forward to picking out a new one next week!

16+ years old! Occassionally I buy some new ones, but I still have the old ones! :thumbsup2

Our bath towels are arounf 2 years old. And the kids got new towels when we moved into the new house last year, so less then 1 year on theirs.

I love new towels!!! They feel sooo comfy!!

I still have 4-6 of them that were my Grandmothers-and she died in 93-and they were not new then. I also have some from when I got married in 79- I really very seldon have guests, but I would not be embarrassed to put them out. Nanny would change her color scheme from Winter to Summer-Pink and Blue to Green and Gold-so I guess they only have had a half life..lol-but are still in great condition.

I have one set of very nice towels that I got for a wedding gift in 1995 - heck the marriage only lasted until 1997.... and the towels are still in great shape!

I also have a beach towel that I got in St Croix in 1987 - it's a Giorgio towel (got it when I purchase perfume.....) that one is still in pretty good shape too!

We use sooo many towels during pool season, so bath towels that are wearing out become pool towels!

Most of my towels are hand-me-downs from my mom that I remember using as a kid. Some of them must be close to 25 years old. I do have a couple towels I bought about 3 years ago that are still like brand new. I only bought them because we were having house guests.

I don't like big heavy fluffy towels. I would probably buy all new towels if I could find good quality thin ones.

I do have about 4 towels that were high school graduation gifts (going away to college) from 1981 - OMG That is 25 years ago!

Most however, are only 18-19 years old from the wedding.

The only towels that I have bought since we married are the ones to hang as decoration in the bathrooms. (The real towels stay hidden behind closet doors - these are for show only)

I have some old towels that I use for my hair. :)

They are probably at least 10-15 years old. :) In fact I know a couple of them I had when I was in college.

I can't use heavy, fluffy towels for my hair because they would pull all my hair out. :)

I'll take an older "thinner" towel thank you very much.

Big and fluffy = good for pillows, not for towels. But I'm a guy...
