We will be staying at Poly for the first time due to CBR closing!I just went through Tikimans sight and have decided to request Tokelau #3914(myself,DH,DM and DS-almost 4 yr old).
Is this a good location for us?
Also, trying to decide where to make dinner ressies. We will be staying 5 nights.O'hana's I heard was great. How about the Luau?Thought that might be fun for DS!Also considering going to Boma's.Which 2 out of 3?(We are going to Chef Mickey's on night of MVMCP and Hollywood & Vine for PS for Fantasmic)Thought Luau would be fun for our "last supper"
Any suggestions?
Thanks,Kim

We just came back from the Polynesian and stayed in Tokelau #2915 (second floor facing opposite direction) The view was awesome! (for a garden view). With a little bit of ducking and turning (there's a palm tree on the side of the balcony facing the MK) we could see the Electric water pageant and the MK fireworks. I would suggest the third floor so you could see over the tree, but don't be disappointed if you get the second floor. It too is great!

P.S. We did'nt even request this room (even though after going to Tikiman's site this was the room I really, really wanted). They just assigned it to us! How lucky.

I would definitely do the luau. To me it seems like a must especially if you are staying at the Polynesian. When my husband started making our PS's for our honeymoon last month he didn't have us scheduled for the luau because he had read a few bad reviews. Well, I really wanted to go, so we got a PS for it and were both so glad we did. The show was very entertaining and moved at a fast pace with lots of variety. The food was good too. Make your PS as soon as you can if you want to be close to the front, but from what I hear, all the seats are pretty good. They call all the kids up to dance on stage, it's cute. Since I don't have kids I don't know how well 4 year olds do at the luau.
O'hanas is wonderful too. The food there is really good and there is tons of it! They do coconut races and hula hoop contests for the kids there too.
Didn't eat at Bomas so I cant help there.

That would be a good location but as you can see on my Tokelau page, room 3914 is a lagoon view room with the lagoon view price. I would go for 3913. It is right next to it and has just about the same view. You will even see pictures from the balcony of 3912 (from Marilyn G.'s visit) and even that is a good view. 3913 and 3912 are garden view priced rooms.

'Ohana would be a great place to eat but so would Kona. No need to make reservations before you go. We always get them when we get there. I just finished the Kona Cafe menus on my web pages if you want to see the great stuff they have.

I forgot to write that Boma is great and I have always enjoyed the food and entertainment at the Luau. We don't do it every year but we do it every other year.

I would do the luau if I were you. It is so neat to experience the luau while staying at the Poly. It just seems part of the whole Poly experience. We went to it this July and really enjoyed it. I'm not sure why it gets a bad rap at times on this board. We also enjoy 'Ohana and Kona. We ate at all of them on our last trip and it was very convenient to eat where we were staying.

Thanks everyone!I'm definately doing the Luau now!I had heard some not so great things about it but now I'm taking your word!
Thanks Tikiman for letting me know about the room choice-calling this morning!I guess it's a toss up between Boma's and O'hana's-might try Boma's only because I want to see AKL anyways-never been there!
Thanks again,
Kim
