O.K. in the past I have always flown SW(and still do!) but have recently traveled on Song and Jet Blue.....loved them both. Well typically we travel on non school vacation weeks so we never worry too much about our flights. WELL this year we will be going down to Florida 1 week before our school vacation however, we are staying 2 weeks SO that makes our return date the same as school vacation.....the Sat. after Easter!! Yikes!!

Now, here's my dilemma......Song will release my outbound flights this Thursday(331 days in advance) and I will most likely be able to get $79 one way but I KNOW that Song will have the return flight way up in the $200's...as they always do for school vacation weeks! Now, I have heard that once SW and Jet Blue release their fares song will typically drop their fares.

So I do not know what to do!!!! Book Song? Wait for Jet Blue? Or wait for SW and play their game! LOL Song and Jet Blue both fly from Boston but SW does not. I could book Song down and then in Jet Blue has a better fare for the return we could book them(same airport) but SW will not be an option!

OHHHH what to do!! LOL Can you tell I am rambling on and on!!

Any advice?

Kim--I'm in the same boat as you are, only for February. Flying out the Tuesday night BEFORE Feb vacation, coming home Saturday at the end of vacation. I've got the Song flight booked from BOS to MCO. Can't get home from Ft Myers for under $279. For one way.

At this point, I am waiting for JetBlue and SWA, and hoping that the Song flights come down when they release. If not, we'll be on a regular Delta flight, with a STOP. Oh the horror!!!

And FWIW--I would book your outbound Song flight as soon as you can, and take your chances coming home. What's the worst that could happen, you get stranded in FL??? :rotfl:

I have booked the cheap flights when they were available and then booked the return later. I have several times flew SW/jetBlue and Song down and one of the others back.

This will only work for you with SW if you don't drive to the airport. A car/Limo service can drop you at Logan and pick you up at Green.

I almost always use the limo service and that gives me the flexability to wait for a better fare.

In June, DW and I are flying SW out of Green down and Song back to Logan.
I got $59 down but SW was $139 coming back, so Song it was for $79. The limo service that I use doesn't care what airports that I use, it's just a couple of bucks difference for a split trip.

Book what you can afford, but remember that jetBlue and Song charge $25 to change. SW will credit you the difference without penalty.

Debster...I was wondering if you would reply....just realized that I double posted!! LOL Not only did I ramble on I said it all twice! :rotfl:

I think I will do as you all suggested....book Song now and worry about the return later! Shuttles or family will help!! LOL

Kim

AHHHH! I just checked the flights for Song for the Thurs. before we leave and they are at $129 one way!!!!! Which means you know that Sat. will be the same, if not more! Wed. before we leave is $79!!! I think I am up the creek with out a paddle!
