An interesting new book written by a private investigator with great credentials has just been released, and he believes that OJ's son, Jason, committed the murders in 1994. Read more here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/02/oj-simpson-book-jason-simpson-william-dear_n_1397583.html?1333409061&ncid=webmail1

An excerpt:

"You're dealing with a young man who just weeks prior had checked into a hospital where he said he was out of his medication and was about to rage," Dear said. "I have no doubt he had no intention of killing her, but [he] confronted her and, as a result, something happened."

Dear said the diaries he obtained, which were allegedly written by Jason Simpson, refer to the young man's obsession with knives and the problems he was purportedly dealing with.

One entry allegedly reads, "It's the year of the knife for me. I cut away my problems with a knife. Anybody touches my friends -- I will kill them. I'm also tired of being Dr. Jekyll [and] Mr. Hyde."

Wow, that is interesting. I was in college when the murders happened and the main theory floating around campus was that OJ hired a hitman. This new theory makes a lot of sense, especially if OJ attempted to cover things up to protect his son.

Sorry for the double post. Stupid slow Dis!!!! Ugh, is this ever going to get fixed?

Interesting new suspect. Here is some of what else is in the article. (emphasis mine) Wonder if they could get that knife tested for blood still?

In his book, Dear claims that he has the knife used in the murders, along with photos and other evidence that suggest the true killer was Jason Simpson, O.J.'s son with his first wife.

"When I tell you we have the weapon -- we found the weapon in Jason's storage facility that he failed to make payments on. We know he carried it -- his initials were carved in the leather sheath," Dear said.

"We have emails from his former roommates that were in college with him. We have our suspect's diaries. We have his forged time card, and we have the vehicle he was driving on the night of the murders," said Dear.

The private investigator also claims to have photos of Jason Simpson wearing the knit cap that was found at the murder scene.

But why? Why would Jason Simpson kill Brown and Goldman?

During O.J. Simpson's trial, prosecutors alleged that the defendant was obsessed with his ex-wife, that he was prone to jealous rages and that he would stalk her.

Dear contends that Jason Simpson has his own demons and suffers from "intermittent rage disorder."

"Our suspect at the time was 5'11" and 235 pounds," Dear said. "He was 24 years old, and he was on probation for assaulting his previous employer with a knife. In addition to that, he's had three attempted suicides and has been in a psychiatric unit.

I don't think that this is new. When the trial was going on, there was a lot of speculation that it was his son and he was covering for him.

Its interesting but, if he has the knife and other evidence he should turn it over to the police not use it to make money.

I can't believe it has been 18 years!

I'm not sure the Police or prosecutors or whomever have expressed any interest in obtaining the evidence. It sounds like he bought an abandoned storage locker -- what's he supposed to do, drive all the stuff down to police headquarters and insist they take it off his hands?

I think it is a crime they'd all much rather just forget. That whole fiasco was a huge blot on all their reputations.

He invested a great deal of his own time and money continuing an investigation that the police had abandoned. He is entitled to make whatever the market allows for his efforts. I know that I was completely convinced that OJ was guilty of murder. I am now not as certain.

Ok so if this kid was so disturbed that he felt the need to slaughter two people, why hasn't he killed again? Usually people who are disturbed like he supposedly was will feel the urge to kill again. :confused3

The same could be asked about OJ. The civil court found him responsible, so why hasn't he killed again?

Sorry I ain't buying it. I believed at the time and still do that OJ was guilty as h#@. Too much blood evidence leading away from the scene that implicated him.

He went out to kill his stepmother and a waiter for reasons I don't understand....

and wore OJ's shoes and gloves to do it and then went back to OJ's house, got in OJ's car and rubbed the blood around in it? Sounds likely!

Ahh, but that blood would also implicate his son, right? DNA would be pretty close. I am sure this is covered in the book if so many police officers have now been convinced that Jason did it.

I agree.

As shameful as the case was for the prosecution and police department, you would think they would WANT to find the guilty person IF it was someone else.

Well, his ex is gone; can't kill her again, right? And he has since shown violent tendencies, and is in jail for it.

This is what I thought of too. I thought they found blood in OJ's car. I'm not buying it.

OJ drove his Bentley to McDonalds and then went in a limo to the airport. It's possible that Jason had the Bronco. And who says he doesn't have similar Italian shoes as his father? And smaller gloves. ;)

It's an interesting theory.

I always thought the son did it and OJ covered it up for him.

Did you bother to read the article? He does not deny that OJ was at the scene. The question is - who killed them?

So wait, is the "theory" that OJ was there, sat there and just watched his son kill his ex-wife and boyfriend and did nothing to stop it? (No one can tell me that this football player could do nothing but sit and watch "innocently" as his son stabbed 2 ppl. to death.) Ummmm, okay:rolleyes:
